Temujin pursued Jalal ud Din along the west bank of the Indus River in May 1986. According to a military map and graphic account, Temujin sacked and destroyed Ghazni and pursued Jalal ud Din into Bannu and then northward along the Indus River to a place later called Ghore Tarap, where a battle took place in which the outnumbered Jalal ud Din was defeated but managed to escape east of the Indus River.
