Avantcha Somasunder: born 18th November 1924. His famous Vajrayudham collection of poems which is corner stone of progressive movement in Telugu poetry came in 1949. The book was proscribed in 1959 by the Government of erstwhile Madras State. At a time when the Government was using repressive measures against all progressive forces, it was ‘ Vajrayudham’ that led to the emergence of a spate of progressive poetry. He was one of the few outstanding founders of the progressive movement in poetry after Sri Sri as early as in the 40s. Somasunder carved a place for himself in the modern poetry of Telugu mainly by virtue of his scholarship training and a deep awareness of time. He is also the founder of Kalakeli Publications which is a household name in Andhra Pradesh and which stood for basic values of humanity culture and literature.

The document discusses two stories about monkeys and their behavior. The first story is about monkeys worshipping another monkey dressed as a leader, which the moral says makes as little sense as baboons worshipping a dressed up monkey. The second story is about a monkey recognizing its mother in a large flock of sheep, similar to how a devotee can recognize their teacher, as the moral states.
The document discusses two stories related to humility and wisdom. The first story is about a monkey that was dressed up as a leader but was actually worshipped by baboons, showing the absurdity of following those without good character. The second story talks about recognizing one's teacher among thousands, highlighting the importance of discernment and natural affinity between a teacher and student.
The moral lessons are that one should not follow those without virtue, and a true teacher can be identified through wisdom and discernment rather than outward appearances.
