Overview
The first part (Part I) of the final project for this course is preparing for the letter of intent.
The field of sociology presents a unique perspective to viewing the world’s social problems. Social problems tend to be viewed solely as individual constructs and
responsibilities, but sociologists take a deeper dive into the complex set of variables driving the development of these problems using various theoretical
perspectives. As these problems surface in individual lives, the workplace, and communities, a sociological perspective is valuable for providing a framework for

In this project, you will play the part of a sociologist who has been requested by your national community to craft a letter of intent to the potential funder, the
Department of Health and Human Services. The project will be divided into two parts. In the first part, you will prepare to write the letter of intent by conducting
research on the social problem and thinking about how to limit your personal biases when later analyzing the social issue. In the second part of the project, the
letter of intent, you will analyze the problem from a sociological perspective, outlining the influential variables and the local and global impacts of the problem,
and finally suggest a potential solution.
This project is divided into two milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final
submissions. The Part I milestones will be submitted in Modules Two and Three. The final submission for Part I is due in Module Five.

How are different social groups portrayed in the mass media in contemporary society? How far have we come in terms of reducing or eliminating stereotypical images and portrayals of minority groups? To answer these questions, we need to place them in the context of the economic, technological, and social changes that have shaped postindustrial U.S. society and affected relationships between diverse groups in our society. For example, watching TV sitcoms and dramas today we see not only much greater diversity in cast members but also minority group members playing leading roles, something that was much less common just a few decades ago.
As you analyze how the various media forms portray cultural diversity, another thing to consider is the role of people with power in the media industry—those who make the decisions about what stories and images appear on a TV news program or magazine or newspaper article and how those programs or stories will be framed.

The final project for this course is the creation of a sociological imagination PowerPoint presentation.
The presentation is designed to encourage students to think about social problems—past or present, local or global—using their sociological imagination, which involves looking beyond the traditional expectations or veneer associated with social problems. This sociological skill set is imperative in order for student’s to truly begin to grasp the relationship and distinction between individual biography and social structures. For example, consider the social problem of youth unemployment. It is well-documented that in the last several years of America’s economy, young people have experienced unemployment in greater numbers. A presentation in this course about youth unemployment might be framed initially about how, in an American culture that is so focused on individual responsibility and achievement, an issue such as youth unemployment can be treated as purely an individual problem.
False information surrounding youth unemployment at large sounds like this: “Today's youth are self-centered and lazy, and they have a sense of entitlement.” “They are not willing to make the sacrifices that we did by working their way up the corporate ladder.” To more specifically understand this sociological problem, students would need to narrow its parameters by selecting a given time period and/or a specific geographic area for youth unemployment. Preparing your Group Counseling Plan With Children and Adolescents gives you an opportunity to apply what you are learning to situations you will encounter in clinical practice. Review the Scoring Guide before preparing and submitting your assignment.
For this assignment, you will develop two group counseling plans that can be used in your Middle Valley Counseling Proposal: one for children and one for adolescents. As described in this unit's videos, many counseling groups for young people are growth-oriented groups—each individual's growth and development is the focus. Members of the group may have symptoms of disorders, but a group can help individuals make changes more quickly by providing encouragement and chances to practice new behaviors.
First, you will describe
group that would benefit each of these clients a prototypical group member for each of the counseling groups you will be proposing. One background sketch should be for a child client; one should be for an adolescent client. Your hypothetical child client is a prospective member of your child counseling group. Your hypothetical adolescent client is a prospective member of your adolescent counseling group.

Each of your two group proposals will succinctly address the following:
Prototypical Group Member: Summarize the background sketch for one of your group members, including developmental, temperamental, and academic information. Additionally, include the reason for referral to the group and your preliminary diagnosis.
Client's Ecosystemic Context: Use a systems perspective to present information about the influence of family, community, and school on your client, including both stressors and supports.
Group Topic, Theory, and Rationale: Present the topic and explain why a group on this topic is needed. (See Table 18-2 in your text for possible small group topics for children and adolescents.) Describe how your hypothetical client could benefit from being in this group. Which counseling theory will provide the best support for the clinical needs of the group (including your focus child or adolescent)? (See Table 18-1 in your text for goals that are typical for each theoretical orientation.)

Community Assessment

Overview
A performance appraisal or review is a method used by an organization to evaluate and document the work performance of their employees. It is an important aspect of career development, and it involves frequent employee performance reviews in the organization. Telespazio is a spaceflight services company, which developed a dual employee appraisal system in 2005. The system aimed to plan the organizational change through support of employee management like compensation, mobility, rewards, training, and career advancement to continue to keep the company going. The system was electronic which enables support values such as transparency, common objective definitions, giving observable behaviors and sharing (Dessler, 2014). The dual system aimed at ensuring that the company promotes employee professional development and attains positive result feedback. The system evaluates the employee performance in comparison with the objectives and competence skills. This paper will examine the Telespazio performance appraisal system focusing on appraisal methods, proposed strategies, and an appraisal tool.
Current Appraisal Methods
Currently, the appraisal approach, which Telespazio uses, is called Telespazio Performance Appraisal for Development (TPAD). This system supports employee compensation, rewards, training and career advancement. It promotes transparency, common objective definitions, and focusing on competencies and roles (Profili et al., 2014). This procedure is an avenue for employee training and development to ensure growth also allowing employees to deal with upcoming challenges, which is a strategy to strengthen the company workforce. TPAD is a fair system because it the process begins with the employees and manager listing endeavors, skills and their objectives for the following year. The evaluated skills in the process differ in each position. The process helps the company identify employee roles through determination of the different employee's skills and knowledge. It then matches the skills in roles where they are most appropriate.
The company mainly uses the 360 feedback and management by objectives (MBOs) systems to appraise their employees. The management by objectives system allows the employees and managers recognize the employee goals, which are later used to measure performance. The MBOs are used to evaluate work progress quarterly, which is an important tool in improving employee productivity. The 360-feedback system uses the employees from all organizational levels who interact with the employee being appraised. It opens gives a chance for employees to be part of the appraisal process, and it is a fair and transparent process (Peacock, 2015). The appraisal uses three levels to rate the employee performance. This sociological skill set is imperative in order for student’s to truly begin to grasp the relationship and distinction between individual biography and social structures. Social problems are aspects of society that communities of people are concerned about and want to change or improve. Because social problems are social creations, students will uncover structural and cultural variables that help explain how a current social problem has emerged and persisted, and students will ultimately develop a “sociological imagination”“—the ability to see behaviors socially and understand how they interact and influence each other. The objective is to submit, in a creative PowerPoint presentation, a compelling case for why a student’s chosen social problem is indeed a social and cultural problem and not simply the result of individual choices. Sociologists do not discount the role of personal responsibility within a certain context, but rather seek to understand the power of an environment in shaping personal choices and patterns.
For example, consider the social problem of youth unemployment. It is well-documented that in the last several years of America’s economy, young people have experienced unemployment in greater numbers. A presentation in this course about youth unemployment might be framed initially about how, in an American culture that is so focused on individual responsibility and achievement, an issue such as youth unemployment can be treated as purely an individual problem.

This procedure is an avenue for employee training and development to ensure growth also allowing employees to deal with upcoming challenges, which is a strategy to strengthen the company workforce. TPAD is a fair system because it the process begins with the employees and manager listing endeavors, skills and their objectives for the following year. The evaluated skills in the process differ in each position. The process helps the company identify employee roles through determination of the different employee's skills and knowledge. The company mainly uses the 360 feedback and management by objectives (MBOs) systems to appraise their employees. The management by objectives system allows the employees and managers recognize the employee goals, which are later used to measure performance. The MBOs are used to evaluate work progress quarterly, which is an important tool in improving employee productivity. The 360-feedback system uses the employees from all organizational levels who interact with the employee being appraised. ABSTRACT
Background: The long-term management of chronic disease re-
quires the adoption of complex dietary recommendations, which
can be facilitated by regular coaching to support behavioral changes.
Telehealth interventions can overcome patient-centered barriers to
accessing face-to-face programs and provide feasible delivery methods,
accessible regardless of geographic location.
Objective: This systematic review assessed the effectiveness of
telehealth dietary interventions at facilitating dietary change in
chronic disease.
Design: A structured systematic search was conducted for all ran-
domized controlled trials evaluating multifactorial dietary interven-
tions in adults with chronic disease that provided diet education in
an intervention longer than 4 wk. Meta-analyses that used the ran-
dom-effects model were performed on diet quality, dietary adher-
ence, fruit and vegetables, sodium intake, energy, and dietary fat
intake.
Results: A total of 25 studies were included, involving 7384
participants. The telehealth dietary intervention was effec-
tive at improving diet quality [standardized mean difference
(SMD): 0.22 (95% CI: 0.09, 0.34), P = 0.0007], fruit and veg-
etable intake [mean difference (MD) 1.04 servings/d (95% CI:
0.46, 1.62 servings/d), P = 0.0004], and dietary sodium intake
[SMD: 20.39 (20.58, 20.20), P = 0.0001]. Single nutrients
(total fat and energy consumption) were not improved by tele-
health intervention; however, after a telehealth intervention, impor-
tant clinical outcomes were improved, such as systolic blood pressure
[MD: 22.97 mm Hg (95% CI: 25.72, 20.22 mm Hg), P = 0.05],
total cholesterol [MD: 20.08 mmol/L (95% CI: 20.16, 20.00 mmol/L),
P = 0.04], triglycerides [MD: 20.10 mmol/L (95% CI: 20.19,
20.01 mmol/L), P = 0.04], weight [MD: 20.80 kg (95% CI:
21.61, 0 kg), P = 0.05], and waist circumference [MD: 22.08 cm
(95% CI: 23.97, 20.20 cm), P = 0.03].
Conclusions: Telehealth-delivered dietary interventions targeting
whole foods and/or dietary patterns can improve diet quality, fruit
and vegetable intake, and dietary sodium intake. When applicable,
they should be incorporated into health care services for people with

Great start here. I especially liked the way that you discussed the differences in audience awareness and approach between Cixous' "The Laugh of the Medusa" and Freud's "The Uncanny." Before submitting your final draft, I encourage you to review the different writing styles associated with each discipline as laid out in this week's module. I think discussing how these papers are similar to, or are different from, the guidelines of psychology papers could add another layer of depth to your argument. Additionally, since I know you're just speaking about your work in the future in a general sense because you're not quite sure what you will research yet (which is fine), I recommend integrating how disciplines deal with the presentation of research, and how your research will fall into the requirements laid out in the disciplines of literature, film, and psychology (or, the way it will differ.) You're dead on when you say that film and literature are intertwined. Film is just an extension of literature which is just an extension of story telling. Why do humans feel the need to create stories - either fantastical or other? What's the motivation behind it? This is the question that seems the most poignant when discussing monsters. Why do human feel like they have to create monsters when there are true monsters that already exist? It come back around to psychology. In the draft, you talk about using the words and phrases that are essential to the argument - which kinds of words and phrases will you be looking for or keying in on? International trade and collaboration continue to
expand in the development of products, services, and
interdependent-m arket activities. Such expansion
has resulted in an increase in global engineering
groups’ interaction across cultures. These groups
exist, in part, because technology now supports
geographically distributed organizations, which
allows them to improve perform ance and outcome.
However, in many instances, the cultural differences
among group members have become problematic in
their work (Clear, 2010; Nisbett, 2003). Both research
and practice have shown that these groups, and the
technology they use, may form working structures
that are incompatible with many culturally diverse
organizations. This essay explores and uncovers
pertinent issues and provides a conceptual framework
that will allow company managers to adopt technology
that is compatible across global virtual teams (GVT)
and organizations. The aim of this paper is to identify
implications and provide guidance to managers who
may be faced with designing and leading m ulti
national groups tasked with solving complex problems.
In short, this research will provide guidance to those
managers that will allow them to put theory into
practice.
Background and C ontext o f G lobal
V ir tu a l Teams
Global engineering teams in the public sector are
tasked to provide various capabilities for government
agencies. Contractors that serve various government
agencies and tasked to integrate global technical
capabilities employ many such teams. Often, groups
are formed without a physical presence as enabled
by technology (Brynjolfsson & McAfee, 2014). These
engineering team members, being diverse both
in their fields of expertise and in their geographic
location, are expected to work and perform together,
fully exploiting their abilities and accumulation
of knowledge to design capabilities and/or resolve
unique problems (Pavlak, 2004). Often, these teams
are comprised of a variety of engineers from fields
such as software, hardware, systems, mechanical, and
other disciplines. For these teams, team work agility
and decision making are essential (Lowry, Schuetzler,
Giboney, & Gregory, 2015). An engineering team’s
advantage, then - as well as their challenge - is their
collective diversity and trem endous knowledge and
expertise (Harris, 2018).
Team tasking evolves from the first stage of
identifying a problem or requirements to creating
capabilities, introducing new features to existing
products, and then, through to production, technical
services, sustainment, and operations (Defense
Acquisition System, n.d.). The full lifecycle of a project,
whether creating products or providing technical
services, will eventually include the interchange of
ideas, design el.

The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The following topics must be thoroughly covered: · Problem definition: Define the problem or issue and quantify its magnitude and scope . Describe the target population (age, gender, race, location, etc.) subgroups more likely to experience the problem or issue. Causal Analysis : Specify multiple factors that cause the problem and specific, multiple consequences of the problem, on the individual, familial, community and systemic levels. Ideological analysis : Specify varying ideological viewpoints discussed in SW 302 of different stakeholder groups related to the problem definition (e.g. liberal, conservative),
