Lemon Andersen is a spoken word artist, actor, and poet who gave a speech with the thesis that if he could make people love him, he could make people love poetry. He caught the audience's attention by acting out a powerful poem. He maintained engagement through being energetic and passionate about poetry consistently. The speaker rated Andersen's dynamism a 4, suggesting he could have talked to the audience more instead of relying solely on poetry. The speaker learned delivery is important, and enthusiasm can enhance speeches. Two tips for classmates based on Andersen's talk are to use enthusiasm and speak clearly.

A presentation I created recapping Clay Shirky's TED Talks presentation on "How The Internet Will (one day) Transform Government". I created this for my Public Speaking Online course at Full Sail University. October 2012.
Powerful public speaking starts with understanding the anatomy of a speech. The essential elements of a speech are:
1. Structure
2. Words
3. Voice
4. Body Language
5. Stagecraft
In this slideshow, these elements are introduced, with exercises to improve your skill in each of them.
