Technological advances have made our lives easier by inventing machines like the washing machine approximately 100 years ago in 1908. Before machines like washing machines were invented, tasks like doing laundry took much longer and were difficult physical work that had to be done by hand. Now, various machines in homes and schools like washing machines, food mixers, ultrasound machines, interactive whiteboards, computers, and internet access allow people to accomplish tasks more easily and access information globally. While technology provides benefits, some new technologies can also harm the environment.

We may be used to having a washing machine in our kitchen, but when we go to a rural house
or a place that has not got a washing machine, we are surprised.

A-food mixer (whisk): to mix or whisk cake mixtures or eggs…
B-Ultrasound image of baby: monitor the baby’s development inside the uterus

4. Why are X-ray technology and ultrasound technology so important to medicine?
X-ray: It enables doctors to see inside our bodies and detect broken bones.
Ultrasound: Doctors can see the development of the baby before it is born.
It can also detect and treat certain illnesses.
