This document discusses two different strategies for teaching entrepreneurship in public relations (PR) programs:
1) A 4-week learning module at Western Kentucky University that introduces students to entrepreneurship opportunities in PR and includes guest speakers, discussions, and interviews with PR entrepreneurs.
2) A stand-alone 15-week course at California State University, Fresno that blends business techniques with PR strategies and has students complete assignments like developing business plans and pitching business ideas.
Feedback found both approaches increased students' interest in considering PR entrepreneurship as a career option. Practitioners also see many opportunities for PR professionals in entrepreneurship.
