need to find the answers. You need to come out with an answer as to
how you would design your career & life.
• In life, one has to use their mind / heart in equal proportions to
carve a decent personal & professional life.

decisions.
• Assess the existing talents, potentials, skills &
competencies & identifying professional goals.
• Suggest the career paths that align with the
professional goals.
• Steps in Career Planning – Initiation,
Exploration, Decision-making, Preparation &
Implementation.
• What is the career prospects you are
looking for? Write 5 specific points
keeping your interest in mind. Example:
• I crave to be in sales & marketing;
• I speak the language of business, sales & engage
with potential / existing customers;
• I foresee as to how our products / services help
the customers to solve his / her problems;
• I would provide value provision;
• Promise less; deliver more.
How you will go about shaping your career prospects? To shape
your career prospects in sales and marketing, you can follow these
steps:
• 1. Self-assessment: Reflect on your strengths, abilities, interests, and values to
understand if a career in sales and marketing aligns with your skills and aspirations.
Assess your communication skills, analytical abilities, interpersonal skills, and
willingness to work in a target-driven environment. (DO IT YOURSELF)
• 2. Education and skill development: Acquire the necessary education and
qualifications for a career in sales and marketing. Pursue relevant courses in
marketing, business administration, or communication to build foundational
knowledge. Additionally, develop skills such as market research, customer
relationship management, digital marketing, or data analysis, which are highly
valued in the field. (MEET & DISCUSS WITH YOUR MENTOR, PROFESSOR
& MARKETING LEADERS)
• 3. Gain practical experience: Look for internships, entry-level positions, or
apprenticeships in sales and marketing. Practical experience will provide valuable
insights into the industry, build your network, and enhance your skills. Seek out
opportunities to work in different sectors or diverse organizations to broaden your
exposure and understanding. (MEET PLACEMENT OFFICERS)
• 4.Set clear goals: Determine your long-term career goals in sales and marketing. Are you
interested in brand management, digital marketing, business development, or sales leadership?
Having clear goals will help you focus your efforts and make informed decisions about the specific
areas you want to specialize in. (DESIGN SHORT TERM / LONG TERM GOALS)
• 5. Network and build relationships: Attend industry events, join professional organizations,
and connect with experienced professionals in the field. Building a strong professional network
will enable you to learn from others' experiences, gain insights into industry trends, and discover

• 6. Continuously learn and adapt: Sales and marketing are dynamic fields, with evolving
technologies and strategies. Stay updated with latest industry trends, digital marketing platforms,

guidance from experienced professionals in sales and marketing. A
mentor can provide valuable advice, support, and guidance
throughout your career journey. They can help you in navigating
challenges, making important decisions, and unlocking new
opportunities. (SEEK HELP, SUPPORT, ADVICE, GUIDANCE
IN YOUR JOURNEY)
• Showcase your achievements: As you progress in your career,
document your achievements, successful projects, and measurable
outcomes. Build a strong professional portfolio that highlights your
skills, experiences, and results. Utilize social media platforms like
LinkedIn to create an online presence and connect with potential
employers or clients. (ACHIEVE THE REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERTIZE, EXPERIENCE &
HIGHLIGHT THE SAME).

operations) practiced by great companies
• Knowledge is not power. Applied knowledge is power.
• Practice doesn’t make a man perfect. Perfect, deliberate, intentional,
improved practice makes a man perfect.
• Communicate well. Speak the language of business. Business
acumen, business projections, business strategy, business skills are
essential. (If you are able to coin 4 / 5 sentences to the questions
posed by the recruiter, you will definitely be shortlisted.
• Focus, concentrate & be disciplined to start & finish with the job.
Handle those jobs which fetch revenue for the organization.
