High Visibility Orange Personal Protective Clothing
Network Rail Personal Protective Equipment PPE
High Visibility Clothing is a mandatory requirement for all persons associated ith track or lineside working. With most of the work undertaken on active railways, both day, night and under different weather conditions, it is very important that the highest level of visibility is maintained.
There are specific standards this high visibility clothing has to meet to be worn on the UK rail network:
GO/RT 3279 - the 'minimum requirements for high-visibility clothing for being conspicuous on the lineside or on or near the line'. Orange.
BS EN471 - The minimum requirements for high visibility clothing worn as part of personal protective equipment, conforming to the class 2 specification in respect of the minimum area of visible materials.
All high visibility PPE garments have to incorporate both fluorescent and retro-reflective materials. The railway standard specifies the high visibility warning clothing to be orange meeting the GORT 3279 standard.
It is a presentation on innovative fiber science in the fashion/apparel industry.
this ppt talks about the omni heat black dot technology and also FreshCore Technology.
Taking about omni heat, fabric capture partially
Solar heat and some heat it reflects and keeps
Body warmer for Long period of time.
And freshcore technology, it make shirt smarter, talking about the functionality- it is STAIN REPELLENT/ ODOUR REPEL LENT/MOISTURE WICKING/WRINKLE FREE.

The EEC Personal Protective Equipment directive has six levels
of protection to facilitate the choice of appropriate chemical
protective equipment. These types of clothing are known
as category 3 PPE because of the level of risk involved with
chemicals.
The clothing is submitted to a series of tests to insure that the
minimum requirements for the materials’ physical and chemical
properties are met.
Information to take into consideration for choosing appropriate
workwear:
Working environment
Conditions of exposure
What type of chemicals is the worker exposed to Comfort at work

Employers have the responsibility to provide a place of employment free from recognized hazards. This Magid presentation provides you with multiple protective clothing options for industrial workers that will help keep your employees safe, productive and protected.
Education about radiation protection and a comprehensive guide to radiation protection aprons, apparel and other radiation protection equipment including:
- Radiation protection is the protection of the people from harmful effects of ionized radiation which include both particle radiation and high energy electromagnetic radiation.
- Kilovolt Peak is the component that controls the grayscale & contrast quality of the x-ray beam produced.
- Typical 0.5-mm lead equivalent apron or thyroid shield will provide approximately 95% attenuation of scattered fluoroscopy x-rays.
- Radiation apron styles and features including vests and kilts, coat aprons, quick-drop aprons, weight relieving aprons and custom aprons.
An experimental sample about tear strength testing of a fabric by Elmendorf's Tear Tester. This will helpful for the Textile Engineering student to know the measuring process of tear strength of a fabric.
The Traverrse Safety Workwear brand is synonymous with safety, quality & comfort and is trusted by workmen worldwide to provide the highest level of protection. Our 2015 catalogue brings together our full range of PPE including glasses and goggles, gloves, safety footwear, protective workwear, kitbags and PPE accessories.
this presentation tells about smart textile and shows some of the example with the use
Smart textiles have been called e-textiles or intelligent textiles, electro active textiles, wearable electronics, and textronic depending on the approach.

Worker Body Measurement: The worker’s actual measurements are determined using a
fabric measuring tape.
Arc Flash Apparel Measuring
Instructions
1. Use a Fabric Measuring Tape.
Oberon Coats, Bib-Overalls, Coveralls: Garment dimensions are larger than the User’s
measurements to allow space for movement.
Chest: Measure around the chest
just under the arms and across
the shoulder blades.
Waist: Measure around the
natural waistline.
Height: Measure the total height
of the worker. You can tape one
measuring tape to a wall and
have the worker stand up straight
against it.
2. Select the size.
After measuring the
worker select the size
using the tables above.
Each of these numbers
represents the
maximum
measurement per size.
Always round up and
use the larger of either
Chest or Waist.
3. Select the Height.
All suits are sold in Regular
size. Order bib-overalls for
adjustable height. Short,
Tall, and Extra Tall sizes are
custom Made to Order.
Regular Standard size is
5’10” to 6’1”. Workers
under 5’8” or over
