Hajj and Tawheed: Hajj is to set out for Makkah to worship Allaah by performing certain religious rights in accordance with the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) Sunnah. It is a time in which to call upon Allaah to purify the self from any worship to anyone other than him.
This booklet explains the basic rights of Hajj. It also notes that the tawheed of Allaah requires the Muslim to follow the perfect way of worship, demonstrated by Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and as understood by the Sahaabah who were the best of mankind.
A brief study of Allah, our Creator Most High; Allāh’s Lordship and Right to Be Worshipped; reality and categories of tawhīd; concepts of shirk. how people commit the most heinous crime of associating partners with Allah, and how they seek to justify it under false pretexts.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

4. WHO IS OUR LORD?
• Allah is our lord, He is our creator, The
Provider, The Fashioner; He is the Only
God worthy of being worshipped.
• Allah is our Lord and the Lord of
everything that we see around us and
that we don’t see like Angels and other
creatures.
• He is the owner of everything and He
controls everything.
5. We know our
Lord through:
His universal signs
(night and day) and
His creations (people
and plants)
Studying Allah’s
names, His attributes
and His actions (The
Merciful)
6. Walk and See
Whenever you walk
on the street or walk
in the park, look
around you and you
will find Allah’s signs
in the Universe and
in His Creations.
That’s how you know
Allah.
7. Allah is the Creator:
• The word ‘create’ means – to
make (out of nothing)
• Allah created me, He is Al-
Khaliq
• Allah is the creator of
everything that is, was, or will
be.
• He created people, animals,
plants, insects, mountains, seas.
Allah is the creator of
everything.
8. Allah is my Rabb
• Allah is the Rabb of everything we see
around and that which we do not see
• (like Angels and other creatures, the
Jinns)
• Allah created the Angels from light, and
Allah created the Jinns from fire.
• All the Angels worship Allah, and don't
disobey him in anything.
9. • Allah gave us many things and gave all people everything they
need. Allah provided for us.
• Allah gave us life, and He can take it away.
• Allah gave us sight.
• Allah gave us the air we breathe.
• Allah made me alive, and also made all people alive. He is the one
who gave them life, and Allah can make me die.
• He can take my life, and He can take the life of all people
10. How des Allah create?
• He creates from Nothing.
• He says “Be” and it is. That’s
how He created Adam,
peace be upon him, and
that’s how He creates
everything.
• Everything that Allah creates
as a purpose or a reason.
12. We must thank Him for all of that, and we love Him for all of that. We
love Him, because He created us and gave us many things. We love
Him, because He made us Muslims
13. LOVE ALLAH
• We love Him because He is Allah, and because He is the Most
Merciful, and the Most Just.
• We love Him because He has the Most Beautiful Names. He is the
All-Seer, He sees everything. He is the All-Hearer, He hears
everything.
• He is above everything, on His Throne, above the skies. He knows
everything. He has the Most beautiful Face, but none is like Him, the
Most High.
14. What do we mean when we say we love Allah?
• When we say we Love Allah an we
love Islam it really means that we
follow what Allah tells us to follow,
and what his messenger Muhammad
ﷺ tells us to follow.
• We keep away from what Allah and
his Messenger tell us to keep away
from.
• This is the meaning of true love. We
simply following this way will bring
the love of Allah.
15. HADITH
Narrated Abu Huraira, the Prophet ﷺ said,: “Allah has ninety-nine Names, i.e.,
one hundred minus one, and whoever 'ahsaha' [enumerates them, believes in
them, ponders their meanings, worships Allah by them and supplicates with
them, and acts by them according to one's belief in them] will enter Paradise”.
This Hadith urges us to consider carefully, ponder over, memorize and learn the
Names of Allah, so that we can benefit from their great meanings, gain Khushu`
(the heart being submissively attuned to the act of worship), obey Allah and fulfill
our duty towards Him(Glorified and Exalted be He). Anyone who memorizes the
Names of Allah, fulfills their duties towards Him, and shuns the major sins will be
admitted to Jannah [Sahih Muslim and Bukhari 8:419]
16. Al-Ahad:
• The Unique.
• The One Who is Alone and
Unique in every sense.
• The One Alone in His
Oneness, in His Self, and His
Attributes. Alone in His
Divinity.
18. Ar-Razzaaq:
• The Great Provider.
• The One Who provides extensively
for the whole of creation, whatever
they need.
• And Who also provides the provision of beneficial knowledge and
Eemaan for the hearts of His obedient servants, indicating a Rizq
that is general that which is for the whole creation, that He
provides whatever the whole creation needs as regards to
provision and sustenance.
19. Think…
If a non-Muslim friend comes to you and says, “My father
works in a factory that makes pencils, so it means that he
creates, just like Allah creates”.
What answer would you give him/her?
