About Hip Hop Music
Hip Hop is a subculture that originated from an African American community during the 1970s
in New York City, specifically in Morris Heights, Bronx, then later has influence to Latin
American communities. While the term is often used to refer to hip hop music, in its broader
sense hip hop culture is characterized by the four elements of rapping, DJing, breaking and
graffiti.

Hip hop music, also called hip-hop, rap music or hip-hop music, is a music genre consisting
of a stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rapping, a rhythmic and rhyming
speech that is chanted. It developed as part of hip hop culture, a subculture defined by four key
stylistic elements: MCing/rapping, DJing/scratching, break dancing, and graffiti writing. Other
elements include sampling (or synthesis), and beatboxing.
While often used to refer to rapping, "hip hop" more properly denotes the practice of the entire
subculture. The term hip hop music is sometimes used synonymously with the term rap music,
though rapping is not a required component of hip hop music; the genre may also incorporate
other elements of hip hop culture, including DJing and scratching, beatboxing, and instrumental
tracks.

About Pop music

Pop music (a term that originally derives from an abbreviation of "popular") is a genre of
popular music which originated in its modern form in the 1950s, deriving from rock and roll.
The terms popular music and pop music are often used interchangeably, even though the
former is a description of music which is popular (and can include any style), whilst the latter
is a specific genre containing qualities of mass appeal. As a genre, pop music is very eclectic,
often borrowing elements from other styles including urban, dance, rock, Latin and country;
nonetheless, there are core elements which define pop. Such include generally short-to-
medium length songs, written in a basic format (often the verse-chorus structure), as well as
the common employment of repeated choruses, melodic tunes, and catchy hooks. So-called
"pure pop" music, such as power pop, features all these elements, using electric guitars,
drums and bass for instrumentation; in the case of such music, the main goal is usually that
of being pleasurable to listen to, rather than having much artistic depth. Pop music is
generally thought of as a genre which is commercially recorded and desires to have a mass
audience appeal.

Fashion Hip hop fashion

Hip hop fashion, also known as urban fashion is a distinctive style of dress
originating with African American youth on the scene of New York City, Los Angeles,
Chicago, Philadelphia, the San Francisco Bay Area, Detroit, Memphis, Virginia,
Atlanta and St. Louis among others. Each city contributed various elements to its
overall style seen worldwide today. Hip hop fashion complements the expressions and
attitudes of hip hop culture in general. Hip hop fashion has changed significantly
during its history, and today, it is a prominent part of popular fashion as a whole across
the world and for all ethnicities.
Male hip hop artists, often dress in t-
                shirts, baggy/low fitted jeans,
                sweatshirts and trainers; some times
hats and sunglasses . Although females
can often wear the same in the hip hop
industry, many choose not too. For
example this photograph is from the
shooting of Cheryl Coles new video.
She is wearing loose trouser, which are
similar to the male artist clothing. An
                overall Stereotyping Hip hop fashion
would be loose fitting, vibrant clothing,
however still a classy look. Hip hop
                fashion is constantly in fashion,
however can be classed as “chavy”.
Pop fashion

Pop fashion has been popular since the 1990s and currently still, many
people aspire pop artists and try to follow a similar fashion trend. The top
look since 1990 in the pop industry was the Punk style pioneered by the Sex
Pistols, followed by Michael Jackson’s single glove and Madonna’s cone bra
-- her Jean Paul Gaultier-designed Blonde Ambition. Others included
ABBA’s all-white outfits; Kylie Minogue’s hot pants; Frank Sinatra and his
tailored suits; and Spice Girl Geri Halliwell with her Union Flag dress. The
research carried out by PRS for music research revealed that 41% of men
and 39% of women let their music tastes influence their choice of clothing.
Since the rise of pop music, it has become more common for the public’s
dress sense to meet their music tastes. While bands like ABBA got the ball
rolling back in the 1970s, there has been an incredible emergence of new
trends blossoming out of the music industry.

The top look since 1990 in the pop industry was the Punk style pioneered by the Sex Pistols, followed by Michael Jackson’s single glove and Madonna’s cone bra -- her Jean Paul Gaultier-designed Blonde Ambition. Others included ABBA’s all-white outfits; Kylie Minogue’s hot pants; Frank Sinatra and his tailored suits; and Spice Girl Geri Halliwell with her Union Flag dress. The research carried out by PRS for music research revealed that 41% of men and 39% of women let their music tastes influence their choice of clothing. Since the rise of pop music, it has become more common for the public’s dress sense to meet their music tastes. While bands like ABBA got the ball rolling back in the 1970s, there has been an incredible emergence of new trends blossoming out of the music industry.
