- 2. Conventions of TV comedy • Normally set in a studio with a live audience and a series of jokes are told. It could be stand up or been prepared beforehand. • It would be recorded live but edited later before it goes on TV. Normally would have a theme tune, song or a catchphrase.
- 3. Conventions of Russell Howards good news • This TV show is firstly recorded in a studio with a live audience, then edited to go on TV. • It also has a theme tune at the start and an act that goes with it that Russell stars in. There also may be a signature logo or sign. • The host of the show is Russell Howard. He sometimes has assistants that help or mystery guests or stand up. He may have a catchphrase. • He rips into the news and finds faults with it.
- 4. .... • Jokes are told and he rips into the news and different stories based on the news. Then there is a mystery guest where a person who has recently been on the news comes on and Russell has to guess who it is and why they were in the news. If it is a 45 minute episode (instead of 30mins) there will be a stand up guest who comes on e.g. Reggie Watts.
- 5. The set • There is a stage which changes depending on what news story is being told. • Russell is stud on a stage facing the audience speaking directly to the camera, with a background with his name all over it.
- 7. Theme tune/song • The theme song is played at the start of the show and Russell stars in it as if he is apart of a news paper.
