What is a Opening/Title
      Sequence?
           
An opening sequence is the first sequence of the film.
The opening sequence which can also been known as
the opening title sequence usually contains a short part
of the story line and the opening credits. For my
example I picked the dark knight rises because it has
the "Dark" feel I hope to have in my opening sequence.

This information is shown to the viewer because the people who
created the film want to be credited in some way. This also means
that if the viewer enjoyed for example the directing of the film they
might want to look at other films which the director has directed.

The opening titles reflects the type of film perfectly. I think this
because the titles move all over the frame in a "Jump cut" sort of
style. I think this suits the film because at certain parts the film will
make you jump and has factors of suspense. The opening titles are
also very dark with high contrast between the background and the
text. The Dark knight rises is a very dark themed superhero film,
so the dark titles gives the viewer the idea that the film could be
very dark with elements of horror, suspense, and gore.
