This document summarizes the results of a survey about short film preferences. The majority of respondents were aged 18-25, and there was a nearly even split between males and females. Comedies and action films were the most popular genres. Over 45% of respondents enjoyed thriller and horror films. Most watch short films online via Netflix and YouTube but not very often. The top reasons for genre preferences were being able to relate to or find them entertaining and engaging.

2. There was a small variety of people
asked, however the main people who
answered the following questions
were aged 18-25. 9/11 people asked
fell into this age range.
The other two people were 17 or
under, or within the ages of 34-41.

people who answered these
questions were female.
However, the balance is very
equal.

watched short films, the
general answers were that
people liked them,
however they did not seem
to watch them very often.

5. When asked what type of genres
people preferred, most people
answered with comedy.

With 45.45% of the people liking
Thriller and Horror film, this will be
good for my media work.

6. Most people stated that the
genre’s selected interested them
because they could relate to
them, they were entertaining
and engaging, unique and
interesting.

7. Things I could include in my thriller are:
-mystery
-decent narrative that plays with the mind
-murder and detectives
-suspense, cliff hangers, good plot,
violence, shocking ending
-action

apparent that the majority of
people use the internet to
watch short films.
The main ones being Netflix and
Youtube.
