Development with issues who are common in the society. For example issues
like alcoholism, drug abuse and relationship problems, this is putting the
character in conflict with himself and other people. Mostly who are close to
him. Drama is the most broad of movies genres and includes subgenres as
romantic films, sport dramas, courtroom drama and period drama.
Because of the physcho social problems most main Characters in Dramas are
experiencing, dramas are mostly not suitable for smaller children under 12
years.

3. The typical target audience for Dramas are “stereotypically” Woman between
17 and 50. This due to the romantic Storyline many Drama movies have.
Further there are, specially in TV Dramas, many protagonists who are the
classic Female Ideal who are strong and opportunistic.
Storylines in TV dramas are on the other hand not so complex are mainly
designed to distract people from their everyday problems.

4. There is a very small percentage of men who are willing to watch TV dramas,
because the Male audience is more interested in action or really fast and
changing plots. But if it comes to Dramas who are far darker and complex
such “Shawshank Redemption” who would get a target audience at around 17-
50 in the male section. This is due to more action in the plot and a far more
complex and harder Storyline. Male people are also most likely to watch a
protagonist who suffers mental problems or has serious problems like for
example drug abuse, Alcoholism or involvements in crime.

5. I would consider that due to the rather Darker mood of movie and the
emotional issues the protagonist has, that my target audience is based in the
section of males in the age between 17-50.
