Speech to Print: Language Essentials for Teaching ReadingBrookes Publishing
Reading and writing depend on language processing. Word recognition and spelling, contrary to appearances, are primarily language skills. Reading comprehension is enabled not only by vocabulary and background knowledge but also by facility in deciphering sentence structure and recognizing cohesive devices in text. Structured Literacy instruction includes explicit teaching of all aspects of language and is the most effective approach for any student who does not process the written word easily. This recorded edWebinar presents an overview of the concepts and language content that are essential for teaching reading, spelling, and writing effectively – the content in the Speech to Print (3rd edition) book and workbook. Viewers will gain insight into what there is to learn about speech sounds, spelling, sentences, and text structures – the language essentials for teachers of literacy.
A booklet designed for secondary school students (broadly speaking Year 7) that provides a range of questions to help track reading and comprehension of any book or text. Includes a wide-range of questions and activities as well as a section to list unknown words, a reminder of word class and a section to print out and turn into bookmarks.
Graduation Project Report - Intern teacher at Tran Huy Lieu Secondary school. As an English major student of Dai Nam University, I have an opportunity to study and work at Tran Huy Lieu secondary school for my internship course. This is a valuable opportunity for me to practice English knowledge, reading comprehension skills and learn experience, soft skills from everyone in school. Personally, I think the school is an ideal place where foreign language students can gather information and gain valuable experience in English teaching assistants.

Fran: Oh. Hi Mark. I’ve just found some old family photos.

Mark: Who are they?
Fran: Well, that’s my grandfather, Walt, when he was young.

Fran: I don’t know. It doesn’t look like Elsie. It looks like her sister, Alice. Yes, I think it is
Alice. She’s very pretty and they’re holding hands.
Mark: Interesting! Oh, look at that one. I know who that is.
Fran: (laugh) Yes. That’s was me when I was a baby. I’m with my cousin, Shirley. I haven’t
