ALLSTATE INSURANCE – Tempe, Arizona
Staff Claims Service Adjuster – Unrepped, Repped, Litigation:
Hired to evaluate claims from initial report to final disposition, to secure needed items of investigation, assess
coverage, liability and damages, assess value of claim and negotiate to settlement and/or denial. Document the claim
file with notes, evaluations and decision making process and achieve optimalcustomer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities are to organize workflow and manage claims in a timely and productive fashion, develop and
conduct unit/Market Claims Office (MCO) training, act as a resource for the MCO on complex claim matters, act as a
consultant to theMCO on high severity claims, provide extensive claim handling assistance to other unit members.
Currently handling the highest valued claims. Attend arbitrations, settlement conferences, trials and work with staff or
outside counsel on strategy. Above all, protect and keep theinsured/customer fully informed.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience:
Advanced policy, coverage, insurance regulation knowledge, advanced verbal, written and telephone skills. Extensive
negotiation skills and advanced decision making responsibilities. Ability to prioritizeand handle multiple tasks and
complete special assignments and projects.
Injury Evaluation Consultant:
Support management in ensuring consistency and objectivity by reviewing and recommending Casualty settlement
amounts (Second look process). Identifies drivers to address injury, Casualty file quality and process execution
through desk reviews and data analysis. Analyze and evaluate claim processes or procedures and explain complex
information as a result of theresearch, manage communication, verbally or in writing, regarding claim
processes/procedures with other employees, leaders and teams. Proactively use claim technical expertise to train
others, provide coaching and feedback to claim service adjusters on claim investigation, claim values and negotiation
strategies. Advise management on specific opportunities to assist with claim adjuster coaching and performance,
manage multiple work assignments with limited guidance provided, identify patterns and relationships in data using
multiple resources, provide analyses for MCO regarding measurement, interpretation of reports and trends.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience:
Expert knowledge of coverage, liability and damage theories of defense, negligence, medical terminology and report
interpretation, legal terminology and process, settlement value. Colossus methodology and broad knowledge of
business areas processes including best practices in order to support thearea’s projects, products and services.
Application of standardized mathematical concepts to solve problems and preparereports for analysis. Ability to
leverage learned technical skills in support of teamobjectives. Effective communication in working with others in
complex situations and ability to interact effectively with and influence internal and external customers. Achieve
results which will impact many unit objectives, apply initiativeto evaluate situations and recommend solutions.
Application of advanced analytical procedures to reconcile, manipulate and recognize patterns of data.
