How do we achieve Gung-ho-ism?
❏ Anticipating Information Needs
❏ Identifying the resources
❏ Being informed about what is
happening around you.
❏ Guiding / training students
❏ Imparting research skills to create
independent life-long learners
Collaboration
and Planning
How many of us really know what is being taught in
the classes in our schools?
Issues
○ Is this information being shared with you
○ If yes, are you making use of it and how?
○ If no, what do we do about it?
○ Is it practically possible to collaborate?
○ What does collaboration look like in your
school?
○ How many school administrators are even
open to this idea?

Who we are and
What do we need
Resources
How do we create lifelong readers?
How can we help students find books that gets them interested?
Creating a reading bond, connecting with children, sharing
their stories.
Helping them find books, both fiction and nonfiction, that
interest, excite and engage them.
In order to talk passionately and convincingly about books, we
need to be readers. Never try to hide the fact that you haven't
read a book.
Read Book reviews / Books Reports online and use them for book
selection eg. Goodreads
Lead by Example
“To be information literate, a person
must be able to recognize when
information is needed and have the
ability to locate, evaluate, and use
effectively the needed information.”
Presidential Committee on Information Literacy: Final Report
This report was released on January 10, 1989, in Washington, D.C.
