Oxford Solutions - Contract 01/10 to 05/10 at Adelphoi Village
Two Consulting positions for Oxford solutions
• First was with a non-profit company providing social rehabilitation services for youths.
• Then environment was SQL Server 2005, Crystal Reports 12, Access 2007 (compatibility set to
Access 2003) and a 3rd
party application called Clinicians Desktop.
• Normalized the database to improve data collection and reporting.
• Used the Clinician designers since we had no source code for Clinicians desktop) to determine
the current bugs preventing existing Crystal reports from running and determined the solutions needed.
• Wrote many new reports, modified existing Crystal Reports to use a single view as a data source
since Clinicians performed processes behind the scenes that broke the reports, and developed
enhancements within the limits of the designer to effectively make full use of the normalized database.
• The single most valuable part of the project was creating a single view against multiple disparate
tables to permit reporting against historical data combined with the current data
• The second was a time critical and highly confidential project where the Client was an
environmental company competing for a contract with a major Oil Company
• Complete SQL Server 2008 database design with SSIS to organize field data then combine that
with lab test data to meet requirements for the oil company.

• Cleanse existing data as required in order to correct long existing errors within the
database.
• Developing test programs to insure electric meters have been properly programmed and
“pass” so they may be shipped using VB.NET
• Design and code screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, reports, and data mapping.
• Debug code, develop test scenarios test using those scenarios
• Train users in proper procedures to follow if a meter should fail testing in the
manufacturing process
• Determining the programming causes of duplicated serial numbers in the manufacturing
processes and making changes to prevent this from occurring Additionally, I redesigned
the application to reduce human input error. This reduced the incidence of duplicate
numbered meters from 0.7% to less than 0.002%. Additional improvement was possible
but management determined the cost/benefit was not adequate
• Design and code screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, reports, and data mapping
using VB.NET
