Elopement
Currently ranked number 11 on the JCAHO list of Sentinel
Events. Facilities across the nation are being fined by state
surveyors and litigated out of existence (10% of all litigation
against long-term care facilities involves an elopement).
Solution
Vision Alert offers a bracelet for at risk residents. When the
door unit detects a bracelet, it can send a wireless alert to
staff, sound an alarm at the door and even lock the door if
you choose. Passive options that do not require power at
the door are also available.

When a resident attempts to leave their bed a pressure pad or
motion detector sends a wireless signal to your nurse call console
and staff notification devices. “Bed Exit” is displayed along with
