Alert Beacons® are designed to serve campuses, military bases, and other large facilities that presently lack an in-building emergency notification system and where retrofitting a conventional voice public address system is impractical and cost prohibitive. Alert Beacons are most effective when wall-mounted in prominent locations throughout the facility. In the event of an emergency, these devices flash and sound to capture the attention of building occupants at a distance and display a custom message about the nature of the emergency and how to respond.

• Reliable: Immediate response, not
dependent on congested cell phone
towers or the internet
• Affordable: Approximately 1/9 the
cost of a conventional voice PA
system and no recurring fees
• Interoperable: Unified activation with
most other mass notification solutions
via Common Alert Protocol (CAP) and
open Alertus API
• Integrated: Designed to integrate
with external devices, including LED
marquee displays, panic buttons, and
text-to-speech fire alarm interface
• Zoneable: Localized information
when and where it’s needed

National Fire Alarm Signaling Code (NFPA 72)
• Alert Beacons are specifically highlighted in Chapter
24 of the NFPA 72 Handbook on Emergency
Communication Systems as an effective in-building
alerting solution
o It also fulfills NFPA 72 requirement stating:
“where audible notification is provided, mass
notification systems shall also provide visible
information to serve the hearing impaired and for
high-noise areas”
• The solution offers greater intelligibility than
conventional public address systems and is practical
for retrofitting older facilities with its reliable wireless
option. Section 24.3.8
