1. I have proposed a second synopsis draft as I have researched and gathered more thorough
information and ideas. I have also created a storyboard to go with my synopsis. I will explain
everyshot in more detail here as opposed to the initial synopsis I proposed.
It begins with the opening shot of the film title which I have proposed to call EZEKIEL. The
next 3 or 4 shots will be of newspaper headlines and coloumns relating to a murders and
missing people.Within these shots pictures of passports,credit cards and weapons will be
displayed as part of a dramatic affect. The last shot fades out to a long shot a business man
exisiting a building, seemingly he has just finished work and is heading home. About 2
seconds later a photogrpahic shot is taken of this man, as if there is somebody stalking him.
The next shot is a medium shot of the business man walking away. The shot crosscuts to a
long shot of a teenager seen leaving his house. We asume he is a drug dealer from his
actions and dialouge on the phone. He also walks down the road. The next shot will be a long
shot from a car window, as if he is being followed. We then see him enter a carpark and the
shot crosscuts back to the graphically designed shot of newspapers, police records and finger
prints. Meanwhile there is a soft melody playing in the background similar to the non diegetic
sound in "Luck number sleven". The shot cuts to the business man entering a dark tunnel,
when in the tunnel he hears a noise coming from behind him, as he turned around the next
shot will be a point of view where there is nothing but darkness seen as a shot. He turns
around and seconds later once the audience feel there is no problem a close up of the
business mans facial expression is seen as he is attacked by an unknown person. The shot
cuts the the teenager now in the carpark waiting for somone, as he is waiting he notices a car
and looks down into the window.He too hears a noise, point of view shot and looks to see a
carpark door open. He turns back around moments later he is knocked to the floor after being
tapped on the shoulders. The last shot is of the production name, which I propsed to call
"EMPIRE PRODUCTION" or "ENTERPRISE PRODUCTIONS" this will be graphically designed and
will wither fade out or blow up e.g disintegrate dramatically.
The film is based upon two different types of characters, that both cause harm and suffering
to others in society. We have heard from a religious perspective, that God punished those
that are evil and commit crimes. Well I have choosen a character to play the role of the
punisher, as he is portrayed as the reminder of our sins. He will punish us instead of god. My
idea for the name of this opening title sequence comes from "pulp fiction" The verse of
Ezekiel 25:17 relates massively with the message of our film. God supposedly strikes down
those who are evil. However in the film we see that it is the main character who is the
punisher. Along with that, I have also been inspired by The "Saw" films in the aspect of
follwing the victim and preying on them.
Themes: Mystery, psychology and Murder.
Narrative: two conflicting characters with no resolution. A sort of binary Opposites.
