And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. LUKE 1:26-33

alikuwa kuhani mkuu;
8 Naye alipomwona Yehoyakimu pamoja na jirani zake
wengine, wakileta sadaka yake, akamdharau yeye na
matoleo yake, akamwomba;
hastahili kupata watoto; Maandiko yanasema, Amelaaniwa
matukano hayo, akawaendea wachungaji waliokuwa
pamoja na ng’ombe malishoni;
kuhani mkuu, wasije wakamtukana hadharani vivyo hivyo.
mkilaumiwa kwa kutokuwa na watoto;
hakuwa tasa hata mwaka wake wa nane;
mengi wasiangamie pamoja naye. njaa.
mama zao wawili walikuwa tasa.
atakuletea binti, nawe utamwita jina lake Mariamu;
tumboni mwa mamaye;
11 Asile wala asinywe kitu kilicho najisi, wala mwenendo
14 Malaika alipokwisha kusema hayo, akamwacha.
SURA YA 3
1 Baadaye malaika akamtokea Anna mkewe, akisema,
kichafu, wala hatamjua mtu ye yote;
6 Ondoka basi, uende Yerusalemu, nawe utakapolifikilia
7 Basi, mtakapoona mambo hayo yametimia, aminini
wakamshukuru Bwana, ambaye huwainua wanyenyekevu.
haikuweza kukaribiwa ila kwa ngazi;
4 Wazazi wa Bikira aliyebarikiwa na mtoto mchanga
Mariamu walimweka kwenye mojawapo ya ngazi hizi;
kumsababisha kujazwa na vitu vyote vyema;
linalostahili kukemewa, ndivyo watu wote wema,
mwanamume.
7 Kwa hiyo kuhani mkuu alipatwa na shida.
8 Kwa kuwa hakuthubutu kufuta nadhiri kwa upande
mmoja, na kuasi Maandiko yasemayo, Weka nadhiri,
utimize;
9 Wala hawakuleta desturi ambayo watu walikuwa wageni
waliiamuru,
ambaye Bikira atapewa na kuchumbiwa;
Yese, na ua litatoka katika mizizi yake;
kumwomba Mungu tena;
Bikira huyo atamposa;
kupata kwake mimba.
2 Basi, akaingia ndani yake, akakijaza chumba cha
mwanamke mwanga wa ajabu, akamsalimu kwa ustaarabu,
akasema,
3 Salamu Maria! Bikira wa Bwana mwenye kibali zaidi!
Ewe Bikira uliyejaa Neema! Bwana yu pamoja nawe,
umebarikiwa kuliko wanawake wote, umebarikiwa kuliko
anajibu;
8 Usiogope, Mariamu, kana kwamba nataka neno lo lote
lisilopatana na usafi wako katika salamu hii.
9 Kwa maana umepata kibali kwa Bwana, kwa sababu
ulifanya ubikira kuwa chaguo lako.
10 Basi ukiwa Bikira, utachukua mimba pasipo dhambi,
nawe utamzaa mtoto mwanamume.
hayo.
16 Akasema, Hiyo inawezaje kuwa? Kwa kuona, kwa
mujibu wa nadhiri yangu, sijawahi kumjua mwanamume
yeyote, nitawezaje kuzaa mtoto bila kuongeza mbegu ya
mtu?
17 Malaika akajibu, akasema, Usifikiri, Mariamu, ya
kwamba utachukua mimba kwa njia ya kawaida.
18 Kwani, bila kulala na mwanamume, ukiwa Bikira,
utachukua mimba; ukiwa Bikira utazaa; na wakati Bikira
atanyonya.
19 Kwani Roho Mtakatifu atakuja juu yako, na nguvu zake
Aliye Juu Zaidi zitakufunika, pasipo joto lolote la tamaa.
20 Basi hicho kitakachozaliwa nawe kitakuwa kitakatifu
kujua ni njia gani ingefaa kuchukua;
Bwana akamtokea usingizini, akamwambia Yusufu,
mwana wa Daudi, usiogope;
yake, wala usiogope kumchukua kuwa mke wake;
ambalo alitoka.
14 Ikawa walipokuwa huko, siku zake za kuzaa zilitimia.
15 Na akamzaa mwanawe mzaliwa wa kwanza, kama
Wainjilisti watakatifu wamefundisha, hata Bwana wetu
