Suzie Lalopoulou discusses composition in photography and provides examples of compositional techniques. She selected photos that were balanced on both sides or had distinct patterns. Some photos had off-center subjects but were not boring. Many photos had leading lines. Other photos showed different angles, viewpoints, or areas being photographed. Some photos showed depth through lines of cars or hallways. In others, a framed section made the photo better. Some had simple backgrounds with one element standing out. A few were experimental, and others had about a third of the frame focusing the subject.

3. I picked these pictures because I thought they looked somewhat the same
on both sides and there were some distinct patters in the photos.

5. I picked these pictures because there was something off centre, but that didn’t
make the rest of the picture boring or anything. The pictures seemed pretty
balanced.

7. I picked these pictures because I noticed many lines in all of them,
and yes, they are leading.

9. I chose these pictures because they showed different angles and
viewpoints that someone might be looking from.

11. I chose these pictures because they showed the area of where I took
the picture and what the place looked like.

13. I chose these photos because they showed the depth of something,
whether it be a line of cars or a school hallway.

15. I chose these photos because in all of them, there was something in a section of
the picture that framed the picture and made it look better than it would have
been on it’s own.

17. I chose these pictures because they had a pretty simple background
but something in that background stood out.

19. I chose these pictures because well... They were experiments.

21. I chose these pictures because about a third (or maybe a little less)
has the main focus and points of interest of the pictures.
