A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture where solute particles do not dissolve but remain suspended throughout the bulk of the medium and can be seen by the naked eye. The particles of a suspension scatter light and make their path visible. Suspensions are unstable because the solute particles will settle when left undisturbed.
