9. • From the results gathered, 60% of people said that they would buy a magazine if it
featured some sort of ‘Star appeal’ (Richard Dyer). Therefore, in the magazine I created,
I made sure to include cover stories that featured famous artists that teenagers around
the ages of 12-24 would know.
• Secondly, 40% of people also said that they would expect an interview of the artists life
to be featured as their main story, which is why I featured an interview in my magazine’s
double page spread. 40% also said they would like reading about celebrity gossip and
facts. Therefore I merged facts and gossip about my artist into the main interview, that
are suitable for the ages of the target audience (12-24).
• Thirdly, 66.67% of people said that the most important feature on the cover of a
magazine is the main image. Therefore, while creating my magazine front cover, I made
sure the main image stood out from the rest of the magazine and attracted the audience.
• Finally, 80% of the people said they would be willing to pay £1-£3 for a magazine.
Hence, I made my magazine cost £1.50 based on these results.
• Survey monkey helped create my survey and analyse my results for me. From the
results I gathered, I designed my magazine based on the requirements of the target
audience.
