1) The survey analyzed 95 unemployed individuals in Romania to understand their experiences, attitudes, and needs. Most respondents were between 30-49 years old and had lower levels of education. 2) Long-term unemployment (>6 months) was associated with increased feelings of helplessness, depression, and uncertainty about finding future work. Older respondents seemed particularly impacted. 3) Respondents had mixed views of employment offices - some felt clerks tried to help but were limited, while others felt disappointed by official performance and lack of meaningful support. Effective communication skills for clerks seemed important to positively impact the unemployed.
