Survival chinese syllabus
The 9-week Survival Chinese course meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10-10:50 AM. Through role-plays, listening exercises, and tasks, students will develop Chinese listening and speaking skills to function in commonly encountered situations while traveling in China. Attention will be paid to pronunciation, tones, phrases, and vocabulary. Students will learn to communicate cooperatively and give feedback. The goals are for students to utilize transferable communication skills, gain cultural awareness, feel confident communicating, and resolve gaps with native Chinese speakers. Assessments include homework, in-class assignments, attendance, role-plays, main tasks, and listening quizzes.
