12. About Me
• Clyde Williams
• Rising Junior here at HWS
• Major in Social justice as a independent major
• With a minor in environmental studies
From Rochester NY
13. What I have gained throughout this
summer
• Through the boys and girls
club, I have be given the
opportunity to excel in my
expertise with kids and
how/work with kids through
all grades, from 1st – 6th grade
• This experience has allowed
me to grow within myself by
being exposed to a new
working environment and
having some experience later
in my life with my
profession, which is social
work.
From the time I have spent
being around these young
adults, it has been a
pleasure to have this
opportunity to try and
positively impact each and
everyone of there lives, As
it did for me.
Lastly this program has
allowed me to continue
what I have been
pushing for, and being
more of an advocate for
kids, that cannot
advocate for
themselves, which is
why I enjoyed this
work so much
I do it for them because
I never had an advocate
for myself growing up
14. Skills
1. Communication
2. Dedication
3. Patience
4. Enthusiasm
These four skills, are the highlight of the summer. And
when working with kids these are some of the most
important skills to attain because you are the lead
example for the kids and by showing these traits these
ideas will eventually wear off on them.
15. In conclusion
• First I wanted to thank all of the donors that made this intern possible because I am beyond blessed
with this opportunity to experience what my professional future holds
• I wanted to thank Katie as well as Pete for investing time into ensuring that we were all good for the
summer and just for being amazing all around, it was a fun and a enjoyable summer!
• As we look beyond college, and begin into our Life, this internship really focused my attention on the
idea, “Designing your Life” and what to expect in life, and how you can always become a better
person through your workspace if you continue to reflect on yourself

When I was little, I used to go to summer camp
everyday for the entire summer.
While working here, it reminded me of all the fun
times I had each summer.
● I made new friends
● Learned about different games, activities, and
hobbies
● Gained social skills such as listening to
directions, getting out of my comfort zone,
and communication
23. As a staff…
● I gained a new perspective and
appreciation for summer camp
● I learned to be patient, assertive, a
leader, and a mediator
● I acquired knowledge about how to
deal with conflicts and resolve them
25. Skills and Transfers
Problem Solving
Leadership
Being a leader is a skill I can use throughout my life and career. I
can apply it to careers in business, government, social work, and
more.
Problem solving and communication are extremely important skills in
work life and daily life. Being well versed in these areas can help
you build relationships and develop teamwork among co-workers.

Reflection: life design interview is getting someone’s story → how did someone get where they are? What is it like? What do their days look like? Can i imagine myself doing this job?
Actionable takeaway: I have a general sense of direction in life, but its hard to tell when I haven’t experienced it, therefore this book has made me realize it is a good idea to conduct one of these interviews and see what job suits me and what doesn’t
