Talk at BaseSpace Developer conference SF 2013
Novocraft Technologies has developed a BaseSpace app that integrates their alignment and variant calling software tools. The app allows users to perform read alignment with Novoalign, sorting with Novosort, and variant calling with FreeBayes directly in BaseSpace without needing local software. The app currently supports human genomes and aims to enable more users to access Novocraft's tools through a seamless cloud-based workflow. Developing the app required integrating Novocraft's backend algorithms as a Docker container with a frontend BaseSpace interface.
