William York is an occupational safety and health management student interning with PCL. He has lived in several states and has a background in wrestling and jiu-jitsu. During his internship, he gained experience working on commercial and residential construction projects in Colorado, performing tasks like safety inspections, investigations, and educating workers. He learned about construction hazards and appreciated building relationships and coaching workers on safety. The internship helped him gain valuable field experience toward his career goals in safety management.

I am from Washington State, the evergreen state.
Attending Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington
Entering into final year as a occupational safety and health management student.
I have lived in five different states (Nevada, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia,
Missouri, and Washington.
Competed in wrestling for 10 years and fought in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 3 years
following.

6. My Internship Experience
Worked on a total of five projects which include 250 columbine, Ft. Collins Aggie
village, Landmark lofts in boulder, Strata Vail , and Moto in Denver.
Commercial and residential buildings projects.
Worked with many supervisors, foreman, and trades people like pipefitters, electricians,
scaffold erectors, carpenters, masonry, electricians, iron workers and others.
Fortunate enough to work with a welcoming and extremely talented team of HSE
professionals.

Attending morning once a week safety toolbox meetings with the entire workforce on each
construction site.
Leading stretch and flex.
Active in conducting pre-job safety instruction (PSI) audits.
Participating in both formal and informal inspections.
Entering in weekly items to the PDC website.
Consistently being involved in safety data entry into the PDC site
