SUMMARY OF WEEK 9 CONTENT DIGITAL
PRACTICES IN THE WORKPLACE.
• By Raylin Naluwamo
• Class:3
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY
• We need to be very careful about the
things that we post online because this
can have a negative impact on our
future careers.
• When we post bad things on social
media it spoils our reputation and
employers would not want to hire a
person who has many mental disorders
that is why we must be mindful of the
actions that we do online.
TECHNOLOGY AND CHANGE
• In the past there was no such thing as
computers, robots, and machines but now as
technology is changing as we are living in the
21st century we have access to all sorts of
digital technologies.
• Throughout history, there are technologies
that have influenced change in society. For
instance, during the industrial revolution, the
steam engine was invented.
• In more recent times, the digital photography
Kodachrome was invented or produces
• As technology increases the digital tools
increase and the knowledge of mankind also
increases.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
• Artificial intelligence is intelligence demonstrated by
machines, as opposed to the natural intelligence
displayed by animals including humans.
• Artificial intelligence is predicted to have a significant
impact on society and business.
• Examples of artificial intelligence include things like:
autonomous cars, computers understanding human
speech, and machine learning
• Through Artificial intelligence the tasks that are done
by humans are now being done by machines
SOCIETAL ISSUES AND THE INTERNET
• The internet, social media, and mobile devices have
introduced new psychological issues.
• Theses include phantom ringing syndrome,
nomophobia, cybersickness, and internet addiction
disorder.
• Phantom ringing syndrome is when your brain plunks
you into thinking your phone is buzzing in your
pocket.
• Nomophobia is the anxiety that arises from not
having access to one’s mobile device.
• Cybersickness is the disorientation and dizziness
some people feel when interacting with certain digital
environments.
NET NEUTRALITY
• The world wide web was originally designed
to provide universal access to a large
universe of documents.
• Net neutrality means everything on the web
should be treated equally
• Net neutrality also means people must not
be charged based on content, website,
platform, application, or the method of
communication that different individuals
and organizations use to surf the world wide
web.
ONLINE IMPERSONATION
• Online impersonation refers to the act of
creating an online presence in someone
else’s name.
• It is not necessarily illegal to impersonate
someone, for instance, someone can
impersonate someone in a comedy.
• Enthought online impersonation is not really
illegal people must respect the rights and
privacy of others and they must not
impersonate someone without their
consent.
INTERNET TROLLING
• An internet troll is a person who shows
discords on the internet by starting
arguments or upsetting people, by
posting inflammatory, extraneous off-
topic messages in an online
community.
• An internet troller attacks people in
groups such as newsgroup with the
intent of provoking readers into an
emotional response, primarily for the
troll’s own amusement.
• Redlining is an American concept that
refers to the discriminatory practice of
denying services either directly or
through selectively raising prices to
residents of certain areas based on the
racial or ethnic composition of those
areas.
• In other words, making it extremely
difficult for residents of the poor
neighborhood to borrow money or
gain access to other financial services.
