Cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiation therapy can damage the heart and lead to cardiovascular complications. While long-term cancer survivors are increasing, the cardiovascular effects of cancer therapies are not fully understood and there is no consensus on treatment. Screening and preventative strategies aim to detect and mitigate cardiac toxicity as early intervention may improve outcomes. Further research is still needed to better understand and prevent treatment-related cardiac damage.
