Having done a first nerve-racking PK at the RSC-NW conference last year, I thought I'd better do one this year too. I thought I'd present myself with a challenge and decided that Bloom's Taxonomy in 6.6 minutes would do just that - enjoy. Knowledge of the law is particularly useful when choosing the communication and distribution strategy.
Section “Competition Protection Against Brands” will show that luxury brand managers must keep an eye on a growing power law that is beginning to surpass trademark law: the European competition law.
Yet, it will be seen that these competition law constraints are pushing managers to finally make the best decisions for their brands: sell products directly and avoid independent distributors.
Knowing both of these laws (Trademark IP law (1) and European competition law (2)) is of particular importance when planning a luxury brand strategy (image, communication and distribution of the branded products) as well as measuring the level of risks of this strategy.
It is in that sense that law is a catalyst for success.

We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. are specializing in Luxury Management.
Competition law is very involved in each stage of the creation of a luxury undertaking or even in a day-to-day
management of an undertaking evolving in the luxury sector from the creation to final distribution of the luxury
products. This is what was supposed to be showed here taking the classical evolution of the life of a brand.
The " (...) " in slides means that some slides which normally follows had been removed (sometimes for technical reasons
because there is movements during the presentation and sometimes to respect the exclusivity promised to NEOMA).
For that reason some can consider that the presentation is not coherent... I fully agree with it. But this is the limit of the
exercise of giving slides without presenting them orally. I take my part of sharing part of the presentation nevertheless !
