Fostering Innovation & Entrepreneurship in
School Education to Achieve Sustainable
Development Goalsfor SDGs
What are the Global Goals for Sustainable Development?
In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals (officially known as the
Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs) aiming to create a better world by
2030 by ending poverty, fighting inequality, and addressing the urgency of
climate change.
• Entrepreneurship has the potential to reduce poverty, stimulate
economic growth and boost innovation, in addition to enhancing
social and environmental sustainability. In accordance with the
human capital theory and previous empirical studies, it is assumed
that entrepreneurship education and training (EET) directly correlates
with positive entrepreneurial outcomes and therefore sustainable
development
entrepreneurship in the field of education
• How is entrepreneurship anchored in the field of education? How
may the learning processes be understood and handled according to
an entrepreneurial approach? Can innovation and entrepreneurship
be taught?
• It’s an age-old debate!! The answer is both yes and no. Education
plays an essential role in shaping attitudes, skills and culture – from
the primary level up
• As we all are aware that industry drives innovation and learning, and
helps create new technological knowledge. This is vital for job
creation, sustainable livelihoods, and equitable growth, and key to
eradicating poverty.
• To Share insight understanding of Thailand’s Sufficiency Economy
(SEP)Philosophy in Education in achieving Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs)
• To Learn from experienced practitioners on how to devise sustainability actions
and activities in schools
• Our existing knowledge of how entrepreneurial activities may contribute to
• the SDGs remains limited
Objectives
Innovation is more than a buzzword today—it’s something
educators strive for in their classrooms, schools, and
districts. Thus, innovation in schools collaborates with school
communities to support innovative models of teaching and
learning.Innovation improves education because it compels
students to use a higher level of thinking to solve problems. We
offer workshops, training sessions and mentoring services to
whole school communities to have the greatest impact on
 We need to be strategic in promoting project-based learning is
a teaching strategy where students learn by actively engaging
in real-world and personally meaningful projects
 Inquiry learning is a student-centered approach where the
teacher guides the students through questions posed and
through inquiry, students actively discover information to
support their investigations.
 SEP can lead to sustainability.
 In 2015, the United Nations came up with 17 Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030.
 The goals were said to be based on three pillars of
 balanced development namely economy, society and
environment.
The pedagogical methods should promote the following:
Open learning - in which learning outcomes are determined by the students.
Active learning - different situations in which students choose the areas of implementation
for their projects.
Learning experiences beyond the classroom- through the use of different information
sources (resources, experts) and materials from society and the natural environment.
A learning atmosphere – which promotes and fosters collaboration and teamwork,
encourages new ideas and creativity, tolerance for trial and error and tolerance of
failures.
Thinking strategies - identification of significant questions, and problem-solving skills that
clarify various points of view and lead to better solutions.
