ASEAN is an association of 10 Southeast Asian countries established in 1967 to promote economic growth, social progress, and cultural development among member states. Its goals are to accelerate economic growth and social progress in the region through cooperation in agriculture, industry, transportation, communications, and other areas. It also aims to create a single market and production base to facilitate the free flow of goods, services, and investments among member states.
