1. Why I Chose To Study Abroad Program
I want to study abroad because I want to learn and explore in a different country. I realized that I
wanted to study abroad around the time that I started high school and I thought this might be the
only chance I may get to travel outside of the country. I hope to gain more insight from this
amazing opportunity and taking classes would help me in my academics and eventually
professional goals. Studying abroad would be a stepping stone for me because while I would be
taking classes that would help in my advancement in my field of study. I would also be in a country
I could learn more information about whether it be the history, the food, or exploring the beautiful
places nearby.
When I started at Lesley University last fall I became really interested in finding out about the
studying abroad program. Before I officially decided where I wanted to study abroad my heart was
set on going to England, but after I did some research I became fascinated with the summer
program for Florence, Italy. The program that I will be studying through would be Lorenzo Me
'dici: The Italian Institute they have a few different summer programs and the one that stood out the
most to me was the summer program 1. They had the classes that I would love to partake in and
they have a few excursions that are included such as Rome and Venice.
I was going to choose England or Ireland, but when I went to meet with the study abroad advisor I
realized that I was open to other options. When she

developing in the 21st century: these may consider as a new era for the world economy. This new
globalization will likely have a significant impact on the Vietnamese society. In fact, parents and
educators are increasingly concerned about the national trend towards studying abroad. They feel
that enrollment in an overseas college may provide students unique skills that could support them in
their career ladder. However, others assume that pupils should not be educated abroad because they
may lose touch with their homeland. This essay is going to state the advantages of overseas study
with supporting explanations. Globalization has come to Vietnam, despite the heralding of increasing
global competition for jobs, Vietnamese graduates supposed inadequacy absence of international

Joining a foreign academic institution is often the first time students have to live away from parents,
siblings, and friends. In one's home country, this strong nexus provides support, assistance, and
guidance. Nonetheless, while oversea, they must overcome homesickness and culture shock, adapt to
different teaching methods, alter to unfamiliar social and cultural expectations and develop
proficiency in a new language. Because of these factors, most international students have managed to
survive the demands of a different learning and living environment. The process of maturity will
enable students to view, understand and live life with a new sense of

5. Persuasive Essay For Study Abroad
Studying abroad as a college student may be one of the most sporadic and fruitful opportunities
they may ever come across. Opportunities don't always arise as timely as some may want, so when
they do, the wise thing to do would be to seize it. In hopes to attract international students, the
Chinese government is offering to fund for their travel abroad program. Luckily, Bowie is one of
the many recipients of the funding, and as a Bowie State student, this is an opportunity I can afford
to miss out on. As a prospective study abroad student, I am excited to gain knowledge for another
culture, establish valuable connections and networks, and travel to somewhere I've never been.
Going to another country can be an exhilarating experience. From learning a new language to
meeting new people, studying abroad can introduce the participant to an entirely new place and
culture. During my stay in Harbin I hope to learn the basic fundamentals of Mandarin, I would like
to learn how to cook some traditional dishes and learn more about Chinese art. Although I will be
taking courses to advance through college, I will also be able to take cultural courses offered by
Heilongjiang University. One of the most important courses I will take up while in China will be
Chinese courses. Learning Chinese will not only broaden my horizons culturally, it will also help
me boost in my career. Mandarin is one of the business languages of the world and is growing to

I discovered a love for art history my freshman year in an honors course with Dr. Esther Sparks.
She was so passionate about art history and her students. Dr. Sparks painted such a vivid picture
of the history behind the art, its importance and significance. When considering study abroad
locations, because of the class I took on a whim and Dr. Sparks whom I adored, I knew I wanted
to travel somewhere with rich history, culture, art, and architecture. On every street corner of
Florence, Italy, stands some piece of history; therefore, I have chosen this location for my study
abroad experience. I am completely awestruck by not only the beauty of these masterpieces, but by
the stories they hold. I find myself daydreaming of the people who created these magnificent
structures, who they were, and what they thought of themselves and their creations. My goal is to
immerse myself in the culture and absorb as much knowledge and understanding of Italian history
and traditions as I possibly can so that I may, in turn, become a more well rounded individual.
Through this study abroad program, I will be able to earn six credit hours. I am a Communication

7. Why Students Should Study Abroad Essay
Education gives the ability and flexibility to engage in many opportunities during life. Peter Gray, a
research professor and an author for Psychology Today, shares that from the beginning, education
was given to children through exploring and learning from one's own mistakes. Society today sets
apart buildings, schools, and universities giving a more in depth education to children and adults
instead of allowing them to learn from them and nature. Today, the many different methods of
educating students include, classroom learning, homeschooling, online learning, and studying
abroad. Each method uniquely shapes and teaches students differently. Studying abroad and
classroom learning, especially in America, hold factors proving beneficial to those pursuing their
education.
One reason why students should study abroad is because of academic opportunities the experience
provides. Studying abroad allows them to explore and learn from themselves; in addition to, they
also learn in a traditional classroom environment. The Texas A&M Univeristy of Kingsville article,
"Reasons to study abroad," acknowledges that going overseas while unfamiliar with a country 's
location, culture, and language, forces the overseas learner to adapt to their environment. This helps
the learner become more independent and develop better language skills. Many employers,
universities, and colleges look for these attributes when individuals apply. Colleges notice the

important period in the life of anyone. It contains a lot of self–exposure, experience and personal

and incredible experience. Therefore, it is useful for the whole world and not for one country, so the
whole world can walk together in all areas of daily life. When they talk to each other, they get to

with a family in their own home, their were a lot of rules and thing you have to do that you did
not use to do when you back home; for example, I lived in a family from Fiji, from their own
religious traditions that they do not eat beef, and they asked me to not bring any food that contain
beef, I am not complaining at all, I respect their religion, traditions, and culture. But, back home we
always eat beef and we cook red meets almost everyday, I was very hard for me to not eat
something you love anytime you want. On the other hand, from their part, they were very respectful,
caring and helpful. My home mother Vidyya, in the holy month of Ramadan she always woke–up so
early to cook for me some food so I can fast without any feel of hanger in the day time. Thank you

14. Persuasive Essay About Study Abroad
You may be among those asking this question: why study abroad? Simply because you feel you don't
have enough money to study abroad. There are many benefits of studying abroad; even though you
might not have the study abroad opportunities other rich men kids have. Getting admission into
American universities is not hard, if you have the requirements for the program you would like to
study. Scholarships to study abroad for undergraduates are also available, but the scholarships for
international students are hard to come by. If you have funding from home, how to manage the
finances is always hard.
Managing finances is the hardest things if you are studying abroad. You have a new overall
economy, with new currency and other pricing methods.
If you think that living and studying abroad is a next step closer of becoming an adult, then you
should perceive money management as your initiation process in that direction.
It involves self–awareness, persistence and a great deal of personal restraint.
So, we have provided these 5 best tips on how to improve your money management when studying
abroad and avoid distressful situations like borrowing money or sitting at home with no plans for
weekend as a result of lack of money.
Make a budget
This is probably the most important thing when you're a students studying abroad. You need to know
how much money you've got over a time period. Include everything that one could think of simply
because this will reduce the chances of unexpected spending.
First, you will have to become accustomed with the local currency and the exchange rates. Do not
compare your domestic prices using the prices abroad. Rather, try knowing the general standard in
the city you are residing and convert the currency in your head. If everything becomes easier for
you, you could make a subscription plan that shows the equivalence relating to the 2 currencies (for
example 10 USD =? 10 euro =?)
This is necessary while studying abroad because at first spending money won't feel like "real
money" in your head. This is true especially during the time of inflation is very big and you happen
to keep bills of hundreds and even thousands around you. For instance, $10 is equivalent to 3,600
Nigerian Naira.

impolite to play with each other's head. Furthermore, international students put too much pressure
on themselves. They focus too much on their studies, feeling of isolated, living, families, future,

different places in state or out of state. It is a good way for them to reduce their stress by traveling
at the weekend or school break so that they could get a chance to get out of their states or join their
schools' field trip and explore themselves by their surroundings. Moreover, knowledge plays an
important role in the society today. As they are the international students, they get a chance to study

world is moving towards internationalization and globalization and education is recognized as vital

and they will have a gap of languages and cultures, I believe students should study abroad rather than

There are several philosophies about international education. For instance, there is a belief, ironically
arisen by the Second World War, that improved international understanding can prevent another war
in the future. C. E. Speakman, the author of International Exchange in Education puts it this way: "if
foreigners could only see what we are really like, they would not fight us." When you consider
studying abroad, you might not think about preventing a war, but indeed, learning about other
cultures can be very beneficial. Especially nowadays, when the media and Internet make it possible
for people of different cultures to interact more intensely with one another, understanding of each
other's culture is essential. M. A. Reischauer, professor of history at Harvard University and former
U.S. ambassador to Japan, claims that cultural learning is even essential for human survival because
"the world is becoming a single great global community."
Yet, is cultural learning essential for a culture, like the one of the United States, that seems quite
similar to the Dutch culture? Maybe you think you already know what the Americans are like. But
based on what? The news reports about the president's daily pursuits you hear on the radio, the
adventures of "Friends" you watch on television, and the Statue of Liberty you saw on your holiday
trip to New York? This is not the real America. Isn't the Dutch culture more than

18. An Experience Studying Abroad
An event can make people change their habits and attitudes, so do I. Never having imagined going
to another country to study, I was satisfied my daily life: having 9 classes everyday, a vast of
homeworks, and endless cram school just like most student in China. Until one day, being told the
idea of going abroad, I started to think and change my life. Going abroad to study, the most
influential event to me, affects my life in three ways , which are being independent, starting college
life, and being an adult. To start with, after being apart from my family, I become more independent.
When I was in high school, I can't live without parents. Perhaps due to the difference of culture,
Chinese parents give their children excessive attention, which cause negative effects on children's
development. One day, " I'm starving, and I want to eat sweet and sour pork" I said to my mom
languidly just like usual. Mom frowned for a while and replied seriously:" you are already 16,
and you need to learn housework instead of asking and commanding. You will realize what I am
saying in the future." "Okay, haha I will," I answered inadvertently, thinking that mom was so
garrulous. However, after being apart from my parents, I learned to cook and clean my room, which
I had never thought before. Until then, I realized my mom's words suddenly and regretted not
listening to mom's suggestions, and I started to observe what other people do when dealing with
difficulties. Imitating others, I
