2. WHAT'S SUICIDE?
Definition:-
Act of taking one’s own life voluntarily.
The Government of Pakistan classifies a death as
suicide if it meets the following three criteria:-
 It is an unnatural death.
 The intention to die originated within the person.
 There is a reason for the person to end his or her life. The
reason may have been specified in a suicide note or
unspecified. If one of these criterions is not met, the death
may be classified as death because of or in
another statistical category.

 EVERY 2 HOURS AND 11 MINUTES
a person under the age of 25
commits suicide.
 Suicide is the THIRD
leading cause of death
among teens.
 In India, about 40% suicide
victims are aged 15 – 29.

SUICIDE RATE.
According to WHO(world health organization),
approximately one million people commit suicide each
year worldwide, that is about one death every 40 seconds or
3,000 per day. For each individual who takes his/her own life, at
least 20 attempt to do so. In which approximately 40% are
students, means 0.4 million are students.

11. RECOGNIZING SUICIDAL BEHAVIOR
 Speaking about dying or unusual preoccupation with
death or violence.
 Social detachment
and aloofness.
 Dramatic weight
fluctuations.
 Mood swings.
 Sudden or excessive
substance abuse.
 Expressing self-hatred.

12.  Do not ignore signs of suicide and help the person
seek professional help.
 Never leave a suicidal person alone and remove
potential means of suicide.
 Discourage any form of Ragging or Bullying.
 Insist on having a Counselor in each school and
college.

13. Help classmates who have difficulty in studying.
Understand our fellow classmates rather than judging
them.
