Editor's Notes

  • #3 Strategic alignment helps organizations, including small businesses, define what matters most to the organization and then create a road map to achieving the organization's purpose. Strategic alignment requires planning, a willingness to reassess and make adjustments regularly and a workforce that feels involved and responsible for the organization achieving its objectives.
  • #4 IT has become a key business function for almost ever organization and IT plays a major pro-active role in developing our long term business strategy.
  • #5 Crystal clear understanding of the business processes ( determine the organization what it does and the business functions) Analyze the structure, ethos and nature of the organization (cultural background of the organization) Identify and document all IT assets, applications and delivery channels (hardware, version of applications used, who use these assets) Identify and document the relationships between the business and IT estate. (Consider value chain of the organization) Value chain means aggregates a number of inputs, transforms them to add value and produce an output. Gather and collate intelligence about influential factors, internal and external ( should know what the pressures will shape and influence our business in the future) Analyze the context, the business strategy and influential factor ( factors that will affect the business strategy), identify impacts and implications for the IT estate. Analyze the context, business strategy, and influential factors, identify impacts and implications for the IT estate. Priorities', time-line and optimize the change agenda. ( technology roadmap will describe how the relevant technology change will be implmented considering the individual systems, time-scales and priorities). Translate the technology roadmap to business unit plans Resource the program. Implement delivery framework
  • #7 First of all the business strategy is identified along with the relevant IT strategy therefore we need to have a comprehensive plan on how IT will affect the organizational desired goals. By having the plan we need to identify the structure of the business including the resources, business functions, human capital so then we can implement the necessary implications to identified business structure. In order to implement the IT plan we need to identify the business infrastructure along with the IT infrastructure (according to the business infrastructure the IT infrastructure is implemented ).
