Stone paper is a natural paper made from calcium carbonate and additives as a binding agent. It is collected from waste limestone quarry materials and ground into a fine powder before adding a small amount of non-toxic resin to form a printable substrate. Stone paper has advantages over wood pulp paper such as being acid-free, water resistant, grease resistant and tear resistant. It can be used for books, brochures, packaging, wallpaper and other applications. Producing 1 ton of stone paper saves resources like 20 trees, 30 liters of water and reduces waste compared to 1 ton of wood pulp paper.
