The document discusses the development of a low-cost, open-source geodesic dome system using locally fabricated materials. It describes the construction of prototype domes using bamboo and 3D printed connectors, as well as a larger dome made of cardboard tubes and plywood connectors. This dome was exhibited at Electric Picnic music festival in Ireland in 2014 and received awards at Maker Faire Rome in 2015.

Buckminster Fuller: A Tremendous Bundle of Experience Exhibit CatalogueAngelica Rosenzweig
Concept for an on-site interactive catalogue experience that invites visitor’s participation in a museum exhibit. This was in response to the ask: "Your challenge is create a design solution that encourages and persuades encourage and persuade people to adopt more energy-saving behavior instead of just informing."
This project was done in collaboration with students from the School of Fine Arts and Human Computer Interaction Design programs at Indiana University Bloomington.
My teammates for this project were Sasha Chaplin, William Duxbury, Yizhou Pan, and Mary Prusha. This is one of the projects for Marty Siegel's Rapid Design for Slow Change course at Indiana University Bloomington.
Extravagant. Mobile. Mechanically Perfect.
ZENVISION offers geodesic exhibition space ranging from nine to 1.000 and more square meter. Besides the huge variability by combining ZENDOME.domescapes or ZENCUBE.cubescapes the structures can be used to raise visibility and to promote communication statements (brands, slogans…), to open up pop-up stores, mobile planetaria and hotel accommodations at any location you can think of.
With both, the organic shape of the hemisphere and the squared system we provided impressive „space for ideas“ worldwide, with the patented systems we bring style, creativity and competence labeled “typically German“ to your event.
Innovation drives us! Let yourself be inspired by the WOW effect produced inside and around our geodesic dome tents.

Academic Makerspaces: Connections & Conversations - presentation at Internet ...Patrick "Tod" Colegrove
Despite traditional/conservative academic library roots on the campus of the UNR, the DeLaMare Science & Engineering Library is partnering with broader community- based "maker" and "coworking" groups in the Northern Nevada area, actively revolutionizing the levels of student and faculty engagement with the library. From hacknights and Arduino microcontroller workshops to concrete canoes and Rube Goldberg Machine competitions, the library is actively building connections and conversations. UNR Libraries is leveraging engaged participants to take the library beyond a collections-based hotbed of student learning and collaboration to being an engine of innova- tion transforming learning experiences at UNR. Hear gritty details of rapid prototyping, what’s working, what’s failed, and the reception of 3D printers and scanners in the library.
Future Applications is a campaign aimed at creating interest and discussions around the Italian Ceramic and Marble sector targeting top London architects and designers potentially specifying these products. The campaign will be cross platform and provide coverage before and during Ecobuild, supported by UBM’s client solutions team and by the Italian Chamber of Commerce.
Second CELLUWOOD Newsletter (published in September 2014)
CELLUWOOD was a 4 years EU project, funded under the Eco Innovation research initiative. The project aims to develop a new range of structural elements made of wood by introducing innovative production elements and includes the use of cellulose instead of petroleum-based glue in the lamination of the timber products. The ‘physical’ results will be the strong eco-beams and columns and their most sustainable manufacturing technologies, in addition to significant environmental and cost benefits of the innovation. These are achieved by the introduction of the (new) technologies from other sectors (e.g. cellulose velvet, biocomposite reinforcement and bio-resin) for innovative uses in the defect removal and repairing, facilitating innovation in the use of nano/micro cellulose and bio-resin technologies in timber reengineering, and the development, testing and demonstration of the novel initiative products.

1. A Low-Cost, Open-
Source Geodesic Dome
System This project is research aiming to enable everyone to self-build their own collective space using geodesic domes, fol-
lowing the principles of low-cost, local digital fabrication and open source.
Over the past two years Domenico.cc have developed several geodesic dome prototypes. The first one was based on
bamboo struts and 3D printed bio-plastic connectors that resulted in a 6.5 metre dome. In striving to develop a much more
realistic structure Domenico.cc contacted myself and another to collaborate on behalf of FABLAB Limerick to develope a dome
that would be exhibited and inhabited at ‘Electric Picnic’ (Irish Music Festival) of 2014.
This would be built using waterproof cardboard tubes and plywood connectors allowing bigger domes. The cardboard
tubes are a structural grade tube and the connectors were developed by myself and my colleague from birch plywood. The
connectors are cut from a shopbot cnc cutter and underwent rigorous cutting and tolerance testing to create a small cost
efficient connector hub. The dome was also constructed on site by colleague and myself with the help of a few friends.
In October of 2015 the dome was invited to the ‘Maker Faire Rome’ where it recieved two blue ribbon awards.
