This document outlines a proposed 5-day trip to Texas and New York, with guidance from someone who spent 7 months in Lubbock, Texas. Day 1 involves visiting Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Day 2 suggests going to Ruidoso, New Mexico for its nature and horse racing. Day 3 is spent in Dallas, Texas visiting its parks, museums, and aquarium. Day 4 moves to New York City to see iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and skyscrapers. Day 5 returns to Lubbock to explore Texas Tech University further and its restaurants, then ends discussing the author's experience attending Monterey High School in Lubbock, with about 3,000 students, and

1. A 5-DAY TRIP

2. Day 1 - I would start with
arriving at Lubbock, Texas
and as it is steeped in history,
I would strongly recommend
you to visit Texas Tech. Tech
is third largest university in
America with 44,000
students is very nice to visit.
Day 2 - day 2 can be
Ruidoso, also a small tourist
place that is very dedicated
because of its green nature
and the huge mountains that
surround the place. Also
horse racing as one of the
bigger attractions.
Since I spent 7 months in
the USA through the
international exchange
program, from August 6th,
2021, to February 15th, in
Lubbock, Texas I would like
to be your guide through
the places I visited and tell
you about my impressions
from my own perspective,
and view.

3. Dallas
Day 3 - Dallas. I chose Dallas
because I have been there and it is
very close to the first two places
mentioned. Dallas is a city with
about 1.3 million people, as much as
it sounds I did not have the
impression that so many people
live in it is a very well coordinated
city. There is a part of town for
everyone, lots of tourist
attractions as well as things to
visit. Parks, museums of which
there are many, mall centers that
are very big in Dallas also an aqua
park which is beautiful.

Iconic Building (Vessel, Crysler,
Empire State, Rockefeller
Plaza...
Day 4 - NewYork. Can be very nicely
combined with this trip if you come
from europe, you can well
coordinate the end of your trip to
new york and then go home from
the airport, New York mostly has a
flight to every country in europe.
New York is the most beautiful
place I've been to, it's full of
different cultures, languages,
people. It looks beautiful,
skyscrapers that enchant you with
their beauty and you can also see
many buildings and corners of New
York well known from the movies
and series shot there.

5. DAY 5 LUBBOCK
AGAIN
I was there through the Flex program which is an
international student exchange program. I lived
with a wonderful family in the aforementioned
Lubbock with population of 250,000 people. I
also had a roommate whose name is Vlad
(double placement). He lived with me and we
were like brothers during the program.

6. LUBBOCK
If you like exotic food
and restaurants, then
Lubbock is the place
for you, it is famous for
the number of
restaurants that are on
every corner.
I have to put Texas Tech University as a
great place to visit, with a lot of exotic
restaurants and cafes around it. The
university is enormous and they have
beautiful parks where I often played disc
golf, which is a local game of throwing
frisbees in hoops. Local people love that
game.
Also, If you love good football or
basketball, Texas Tech will offer you
amazing games that you will not forget.
You can meet great guys and girls who
play for these teams.
Honestly, it was a great pleasure to watch
them.

7. FIRST
ENCOUNTER
WITH AN
ENGLISH-
SPEAKING AREA
To tell you the truth, it was hilarious when
I first found myself in the area where
English is the primary language. It was
very chaotic and I can honestly say hard
at first. It takes a couple of weeks to get
used to their accent, which is
characteristic of every part of America.
Also, there are always slangs among
younger people that we are not used to
and didn't even know about.
There is an interesting story when a girl
came up to me on the first day of school
and asked me howdy, I thought she was
mentioning an "Audi" a car and I was
very confused. She was just thinking
about (how are you doing).

8. SCHOOL IN
AMERICA
As soon as I got to
Monterey high School, I
got a list of 50 different
subjects to choose from,
and I chose 7 subjects
because I was a Senior
there, but otherwise it's
8. I liked being able to
study subjects that
interested me.
Schools are also very
flexible, if you don't like
a subject in the first few
months, you can change
the subject.
At school I had just
enough time to learn
the material and finish
homework. Even though
it last a bit long from,
8am to 4:15 pm and
even after that I had
sports up to 6pm, I think
it is very worth it
because when you
come home you do not
have to worry more
about homework or
some over-learning like
here in Europe. Less
material is taught but
much more detailed.

9. THE SCHOOL IS CALLED
MONTEREY HIGH SCHOOL AND
HAS ABOUT 3,000 STUDENTS. I
ALSO REALLY LIKED THE FACT
THAT I HAD BREAKFAST AND
LUNCH AT SCHOOL, THERE ARE
SUBJECTS WHERE YOU CAN
PARTICIPATE IN SPORTS, SO I
CHOSE A SUBJECT THAT WAS
ONLY RELATED TO AMERICAN
FOOTBALL. I THINK THAT YOU
WILL ENJOY THE ABILITY TO
CHOOSE FOR YOURSELF.
DURING SCHOOL I WOULD
HAVE 2 TRAININGS ONE AFTER
SCHOOL AND ONE DURING
SCHOOL BETWEEN CLASSES.
THE CANTEEN AT THE SCHOOL
WAS VERY LARGE WITH QUITE
CORRECT FOOD WHICH IS
FREE.

10. MONTEREY
HIGHT
SCHOOL
There are also
organized games that
take place on Fridays,
so if you happen to be
at school on Friday, you
will be able to go with
the team and
experience what it is
like to be an American
football player. The
matches are very
interesting, a lot of
cheering and strong
emotions every time.
