2. EXT. MILITARY BASE
[PLEASEINSERTPRERENDERUNICODE{¢A¸S}INTOPREAMBLE] DUSK
A military issue Humvee crawls through the gate, bullet
shrapnel embedded in the body. The car SCREECHES to a halt
as it pulls into the parking bay.
Three exhausted men clamber out of the bullet ridden
vehicle. The doors SLAM shut, and the sounds of military
personnel RUNNING in around the base and SHOUTING can be
head in the background. ABLE, PRESTON, and AXEL have
arrived.
ABLE
How the hell did those bastards
know we were coming? Do precautions
not mean shit anymore?
PRESTON
They must have seen us coming in?
Just ‘cause we got the tech doesn’t
mean they don’t have anything to
counter it.
Axel walks silently with their escort. Covering and
uncovering his hand in his skin. Make PHASING NOISES as he
goes.
AXEL
Would you prefer this? You think
this is a privilege? Oh yeah, this
must be the best thing that’s ever
happened to a person...I lost
everything I had, my whole body,
but they still wouldn’t let me die.
So don’t claim it to be some God
sent gift. This is humans pissing
about with life. Who are we to
decide who lives...and who dies?
ABLE
Look, I didn’t mean anything by it
man, I just...
AXEL
No. You don’t understand this do
you? I’ve been alive for 342 years!
That isn’t human! What am I? Huh!
This government took me and made me
a god damn robot! I’m not human
anymore...I’m no more human than a
toaster. Look at me. Look what they
did. They took a dead man and put
him in a suit of metal.

PRESTON
No man, they made a hero, a legend.
Look at the things you’ve done for
this country, all the people you’ve
saved. Evil you’ve fought. I ain’t
ever seen a dead man fight the
Ostocleve like you. Man, c’mon.
You’re so much more than you think.
INT. MILITARY OPS ROOM - NIGHT
Able, Axel and Preston walk up to a storage crate plastered
into the side of a mountain. CREAKS and GROANS of the metal
can be heard. Axel grabs the large chrome handle and pulls
it towards him. CLUNKING, GRINDING noises can be heard from
the inside. A small number pad shoots out from above them.
Preston punches in a code before an electric BUZZ confirms
the correct code. The door CREAKS open reveal a cavernous
room filled with hundreds of computers and monitors. Cables
are strewn around the room, running up walls, ceilings,
floors. Dust falls of the ceiling periodically due to the
military camp’s heavy traffic on top of the mountain. Axel,
Able, and Preston walk through the military checkpoint,
before taking a route through the exercise room.
PRESTON
Anyway man, you’re more than a
toaster. With what you’ve got
inside you, you’re more like...an
alien toaster.
Axel lets out a small LAUGH.
AXEL
I guess you’re right man. I might
as well be the God of war, what
with my track record.
PRESTON
I second that statement man.
ABLE
See man, we all know what you’re
capable of. you’re like some damn
superhero! Seriously, none of us
here could do anything like you
can.
GENERAL ALLSTINER
Eyes forward marines. Better get
your act straight. ’Cause we got a
long haul ahead of us.
