Methodology ASAE & The Center conducted three studies in our economic series: In December/January our first members’ member study involved 97 different associations – 8500 members responded; In March we conducted  a survey of associations, 1100 associations responded In June, we followed-up the members’ member study – 77 associations participated with over 7,000 respondents.
Methodology, continued In the members’ member studies (Winter and Summer) each participating association contributed either a complete list of members or a randomly selected list of members, up to 3,000 members per association; The surveys was deployed electronically with each member contributed receiving at least one follow-up after the initial deployment. Members’ member respondents were asked to identify ways in which they participated in the activities of the association(s) in their field and then to predict the likelihood of their participation in the same activities in the coming year.  Associations were asked similar questions from the perspective of those delivering services to members.
Respondent Profile:  Industry 41 associations contributed names to both the Winter and Summer studies; There were few differences between associations that participated in both waves and those that participated in only the Summer wave. Associations represent a wide variety of industries.  Large segments in: Education Healthcare Science & Engineering Law Financial Industry Design Professions Recreation

Methodology ASAE & The Center conducted three studies in our economic series: In December/January our first members’ member study involved 97 different associations – 8500 members responded; In March we conducted a survey of associations, 1100 associations responded In June, we followed-up the members’ member study – 77 associations participated with over 7,000 respondents.
  • 3. Methodology, continued In the members’ member studies (Winter and Summer) each participating association contributed either a complete list of members or a randomly selected list of members, up to 3,000 members per association; The surveys was deployed electronically with each member contributed receiving at least one follow-up after the initial deployment. Members’ member respondents were asked to identify ways in which they participated in the activities of the association(s) in their field and then to predict the likelihood of their participation in the same activities in the coming year. Associations were asked similar questions from the perspective of those delivering services to members.

Respondent Profile: Industry 41 associations contributed names to both the Winter and Summer studies; There were few differences between associations that participated in both waves and those that participated in only the Summer wave.
