The document proposes a program called Startup Costa Rica to help boost Costa Rica's entrepreneurial ecosystem based on similar accelerator programs. It notes some success stories from Startup Chile, Silicon Valley, and other hubs. Challenges for Costa Rica include limited resources and a small market. The proposal suggests combining Costa Rica's talent and environment to attract international entrepreneurs and funding, and framing it as a regional initiative to address Costa Rica's challenges. The goal is to spur learning and acceleration through this program.
Codetrotters provides startups with a unique and innovative solution to developer recruitment while also contributing to the strengthening of entrepreneurship ecosystems worldwide. CodeTrotters helps startups identify and recruit top programming talent from under-tapped global developer talent pools for a fraction of what it would cost to hire a recruiter. Tropicalized Entrepreneurs - 2017 Prospanica at Capital Factory AustinEstuardo Robles
Hispanics are the fastest-growing entrepreneurship segment in the US. This coincides with an entrepreneurship renaissance occurring in Latin America, which is perhaps the result of the rapid rise of the company-builder model, the lean-startup model, and the availability of private equity. Thus, "Tropicalized Entrepreneurs" - entrepreneurs from Latin and Central America - are becoming more prevalent.
While the US' Silicon Valley gets its reputation as a hub of entrepreneurship, we want to discuss how to "fill the gaps" of funding and resources between here and the rest of the world, specifically, Central and Latin America.
Join Prospanica Austin - the Association of Hispanic Professionals - at Capital Factory - Austin's "Center of Gravity for Entrepreneurship" - as we have a conversation with Estuardo Robles about the rise of entrepreneurship in Latin America.
Estuardo is a frequent speaker and adviser on entrepreneurship and economic development, specalised in US and Latin American markets. He has worked with companies such as Spiceworks, PureFresh and Nearsol, and has been featured in the New York Times, VentureBeat and Forbes Central America.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
