Indian agriculture_ Achievements and challenges.pdfMitra Sprayers
The new threats posed by next-generation technology require a second green revolution. According to the report, digital technology and extension services will boost information exchange and farmer awareness. The air assisted sprayer has been widely used for disease and pest management for decades due to its reputation as a highly effective pesticide application tool.
“Indian Agriculture: Achievements and Challenges” points out that despite the country’s improvement in output, ensuring food security, food inflation, and volatility remains a challenge, requiring supply-side intervention strategies, such as increasing public investment, extending storage resources, and developing food processing facilities. A low volume sprayer will allow farmers to achieve high yields.
RBI published “Indian Agriculture: Achievements and Challenges.”
India is the fourth largest global producer of agrochemicals after the US, Japan and China. This segment generated a value of USD 4.4 billion in FY15 and is expected to grow at 7.5% per annum to reach USD 6.3 billion by FY20. Approximately 50% of the demand comes from domestic consumers and the rest from exports. During the same period, the domestic demand is expected to grow at 6.5% per annum and exports at 9% per annum.
Agriculture in India has a significant history. Today, India ranks second worldwide in farm output. The economic contribution of agriculture to India's GDP is steadily declining with the country's broad-based economic growth. Still, agriculture is demographically the broadest economic sector and plays a significant role in the overall socio-economic fabric of India.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
1. Start up Ideas in Agriculture :
Agriculture plays a vital role in India’s economy. Over 58% of the rural households depend on
agriculture as their principal means of livelihood. The Indian food and grocery market is the world’s
sixth largest, with retail contributing 70% of the sales. The Indian food processing industry accounts
for 32% of the country’s total food market, one of the largest industries in India and is ranked fifth in
terms of production, consumption, export and expected growth. However agriculture in India is
good but some challenges make it tough, Also increase the modern culture killing the agriculture
slowly.
The young generation must understand the situation and work for that through modern solution by
innovative ideas and new startup idea in agriculture.
Making by-product out from the product solve the problem with modern solution uses of modern
techniques and technologies like GPS and GIS tracking devices and new Farm machinery.
There are many schemes and subsidy in agriculture start up plan which were provided by the
government of India, women welfare community plays the main role in the involvement of women
in business through the by-products.
Also there are many KCC to clarify the doubt about the agriculture practice through the experts. Also
agriculture provide the good income than other department, easy and efficient.
Here are the some of the ideas which can be done with minimum amount of sources startup plans
like growing algea ,mushrooms in the room, selling By-products can help.
However Taking part in the land and farming area IFS play a vital role in that.
Market overview
Land under Cultivation:
At 157.35 million hectares, India holds the second largest agricultural land in the world
Varied Climatic Conditions:
With 20 agri-climatic regions, all 15 major climates in the world exist in India. The country also
possesses 46 of the 60 soil types in the world
Record Domestic Production:
In FY ’16, 253.16 million tonnes of food grain production was recorded in India, up from 252.68
million tonnes in FY ’15. India is among the 15 leading exporters of agricultural products in the world
Main Products:
India is the largest producer of spices, pulses, milk, tea, cashew and jute; and the second largest
producer of wheat, rice, fruits & vegetables, sugarcane, cotton and oilseeds
Farm Mechanization:
India is one of the largest manufacturers of farm equipment such as tractors, harvesters and tillers.
India accounts for nearly one-third of the overall tractor production, globally, with the tractor
production in the country estimated to increase from 0.57 million units in FY16 and reach to 16
million units by 2030.
2. CHALLENGES IN AGRI/OPPORTUNITIES FOR STARTUPS
1. Inefficient Supply Chain:
Powerful incumbents control farming resources such as finance, seeds, chemicals, distribution,
and supply chain. These systems have complete access to the distribution networks that supplies
to about 8 Mn kiranas across the country too.
2. Middlemen and Agents:
The farmer needs on the demand-side are controlled by middlemen and agents who own
the fragmented supply chains. They also control the produce pricing. For instance, organized
retailers are estimated to source 20% of their produce directly from farmers, the rest of
from mandis. But mandis are not ideal farmers’ markets, Traders require a license to operate
within a mandi but wholesale and retail traders and food processing companies cannot buy
produce classified as notified agricultural products (cereals, vegetables etc.) directly from a
farmer. Notified products are to be brought to the market committee and auctioned in the
farmers’ presence. Most of the market committees have failed to provide a competitive
platform to farmers and lack transparency and technology intervention to ensure smooth
and just trading.
3. Lack of financing:
Distributors usually double up as lenders and most farm-debt is created because of using
chemicals and seeds that are not pest-resistant. Additionally, domestic subsidies and
investments announced in policies rarely reach the end customer – the farmer.
4. Inadequate Irrigation:
Agriculture in India is a fragmented activity spread across 600,000 villages and most of the
regions still depend on rainfall for water (~70%). While at the same time, groundwater levels
are slowly receding from the 1,000 ft. avg. depth yearly.
5. Farm size vs Productivity:
Studies have shown that there is an inverse relationship b/w farm size and productivity.
Indian farms are fragmented and small; 70% are less than 1 Hectare, while national average
is less than 2 Hectares, resulting in significantly low farm yields. In Europe and US, avg. sizes
are 30x and 150x of those in India.
