A group of 325 Bihari Muslim refugees arrived in Pakistan by plane on Sunday, beginning the resettlement of over 230,000 Biharis stranded in Bangladesh after the 1971 war that resulted in East Pakistan becoming Bangladesh. The Biharis wept and kissed the ground upon arrival, celebrating their return to Pakistan while still living for many years in filthy refugee camps in Bangladesh, with full resettlement expected to take additional years via airlift.
