by Pascal Rigo, a French baker from Bordeaux, France, in 1996.
Pascal and his team have grown the organization from a small
bakery on Pine street in San Francisco to 20 café locations across
the Bay area with plans to expand and a few large artisan bakeries
across California to serve premium wholesale accounts. Pascal still
leads all aspects of La Boulange Cafe & Bakery.

and testings are a huge part of the La Boulange process. We

• La Boulange regards its place in the neighborhoods that
it serves with just as much importance as the products and
experience it creates inside each bakery café. Every café
donates to community events, food banks and charity fund
raisers. In addition, every month La Boulange and Pascal
host an intimate fundraising dinner to benefit a different Bay
area charity in the heart of the Mother Bakery on Pine street.
These La Boulange Friday’s have helped to raise over
$200,000 in just one year!
