Three young men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse to worship King Nebuchadnezzar's golden statue and are thrown into a fiery furnace as punishment. When the king looks in, he sees four figures unharmed by the fire, including one that looks like a son of God. Their faith is tested but they remain obedient to God alone. Afterward, Nebuchadnezzar praises their God and promotes the three men in the province of Babylon.
Daniel was a teenager among the Jewish exiles in Babylon. He became the most senior administrator of the empire under three unpredictable kings. Four commitments were the foundation of his life: commitment to God, Commitment to reading the Scriptures, Commitment to prayer and commitment to professional excellence. Through visions and angelic messengers God gave Daniel six detailed visions of the future covering the period 200BC until the return of Christ.

The Meaning of the Qur'an is a fresh English rendering of Tafhim-ul-Qur’an, Maulana Syed Abu Ala Moududi’s monumental and masterly Urdu translation of the Qur’an and a selection of his commentary. The translator has undertaken the delicate and difficult task of rendering this work in English under the guidance of the Maulana himself. Here is a work with a difference, by a dedicated scholar of an entirely different sort. An immense wealth of profound understanding of the Qur’an is here, a vast treasure of knowledge and deep insight, and a valuable exposition of some social, political, economic and legal teachings of the Qur’an.
This comprehensive Tafsir answers contemporary questions, and makes the Qur’an fully relevant to the concerns of day, yet it loses nothing of its timelessness nor sacrifices any of the traditional understanding. It demonstrates the unity and coherence of the Qur’an by centring everything on its message, like gems hung on a single string.
This Tafsir is particularly suitable for Muslims with no direct access to the Arabic original.

This is the story of Jesus, although He was Divine, chose to redeem humanity. Choosing to be born as a man through the womb of Virgin Mary, He endured nature’s harshness and wild nurture. Trapped in Human body, he subjected himself to all the frailties and inadequacies of man including suffering, weakness, hunger and death. Because of His complete obedience to the will of His Heavenly Father, God decided to give Him the highest honour available in all of Creation including heaven and earth – A Name that is above every other name, that at the Name of Jesus, every knee must bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is LORD to the glory of God the Father! This is how Jesus became the greatest global brand ever!!

What temptations do you think Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego faced when they were brought before the king (13–15)? What impresses you most about their response to these temptations (16–18)? How could you follow their example if you were found to have terminal cancer? How could their example help if you faced the possibility of losing your job or receiving a poor grade because of your refusal to compromise God's Word?
Some Christians claim that pain or sickness or trial are always the result of sin or lack of faith. How would you respond to that claim in light of this passage? As you look at Nebuchadnezzar's response (13–15, 19–23), what evidence do you see that his basic conflict was with God rather than with these three men?
Second String Saints: Daniel's 3 AmigosStephen Palm
Daniel's 3 Friends, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, were young exiles, whose confidence in God was both unyielding and unconditional. They demonstrate what it means to trust in God no matter how high the cost, and ultimately they have a most amazing encounter with God.

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come , except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what with holdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work, only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then that Wicked shall be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with power and signs, and lying wonders."

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

3. Every Christian will go through a
season of testing and trial and faith will
be refined like gold in the fire
4. 1Peter 1:7
So that the tested genuineness of your
faith—more precious than gold that
perishes though it is tested by fire—may
be found to result in praise and glory and
honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
5. A FAITH THAT’S TESTED IS A
FAITH THAT CAN BE TRUSTED.
Faith is a rhema word of God and we need
to have a sense of responsibility as we
receive it to act upon it and obey it.
6. Review
• Daniel interprets the dream of
Nebuchadnezzar
• DANIEL PROMOTED AS CHIEF WISE
MAN & GOVERNOR
• DANIEL REQUESTED PROMOTION FOR
HIS FRIENDS TO BECOME PROVINCIAL
MAYORS
7. 2 THOUGHTS HERE
• GOD BLESSING US WILL AFFECT
OTHERS – DANIEL & FRIENDS
• NO CROSS NO CROWN PRINCIPLE –
Daniel’s friend got promoted without any
trials
9. Daniel 3:1
Some time later, king Nebuchadnezzar
built a golden statue, making it ninety
feet high and nine feet wide. He set it up
in the Dura Valley within the province of
Babylon
11. Daniel 3:4-6
4 Then a herald proclaimed aloud:
"People of all nations, and languages
are commanded:
12. Daniel 3:4-6
5 Whenever you hear the sound of the
trumpet, the flute, the lyre, the four-
stringed lyre, and the harp, playing
together along with various
instruments, you are to fall down and
worship the golden statue that was
set up by King Nebuchadnezzar
13. Daniel 3:4-6
6 Anyone who does not fall down and
worship is immediately to be thrown into
the blazing fire furnace."
14. IDOLATRY IN THE HEART OF
NEBUCHADNEZZAR
• PRIDE, GLORY, POWER,
• The root of idolatry is man becoming God.
15. The road of Power & Glory
may lead to idolatry to self
Therefore as man receives power and
glory, he must go through the fire to
cleanse himself
17. Isaiah 14:12-14
12 "How you are fallen from heaven, O
Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut
down to the ground, you who laid the
nations low!
18. Isaiah 14:12-14
13 You said in your heart, 'I will ascend
to heaven; above the stars of God I will
set my throne on high; I will sit on the
mount of assembly in the far reaches of
the north;
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights
of the clouds; I will make myself like the
Most High.'
19. Isaiah 14:12-14
14 I will ascend above the heights of the
clouds; I will make myself like the Most
High.'
21. Daniel 3:7
7 Therefore, when all of the people "heard
the sound of the trumpet, the flute, the
lyre, the four-stringed lyre, and the harp,
playing together along with various other
instruments," all the "people, nations, and
languages" began to fall down and
worship the golden statue that King
Nebuchadnezzar had set up
22. Babylon Worship
Today many people boast of their success
like a grandeur worship song , they exalt
themselves like the tower of Babel, the
tower of pride.
24. Psalm 137:1-4
1 By the waters of Babylon, there we
sat down and wept, when we
remembered Zion.
2 On the willows there we hung up our
lyres.
25. Psalm 137:1-4
3 For there our captors required of us
songs, and our tormentors, mirth,
saying, "Sing us one of the songs of
Zion!"
4 How shall we sing the LORD's song in
a foreign land?
27. Daniel 3: 12-13
12 "Certain influential Jewish men whom
you appointed to manage the city of
Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego—have neither paid attention to
you, your majesty, nor served your gods.
And they won't worship the golden statue
that you set up.“
28. Daniel 3: 12-13
13 Nebuchadnezzar flew into a rage and
furiously ordered that Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego be brought
before him.
34. Daniel 3:17
17 If we are thrown into the blazing
furnace, the God whom we serve is able
to save us. He will rescue us from your
power, Your Majesty. NLT
35. The eyes of Faith is more powerful than
a natural eyes because it sees what
God is going to do.
37. John 5:19
18 But even if [God] doesn’t, we want to
make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we
will never serve your gods or worship the
gold statue you have set up.”
39. Daniel 3:18
18 But even if [God] doesn’t, we want to
make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we
will never serve your gods or worship the
gold statue you have set up.”
41. Daniel 3:19
19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with
fury, and the expression of his face was
changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego. He ordered the furnace heated
seven times more than it was usually
heated
43. Dan 3:24-25
24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was
astonished; and he rose in haste and
spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we
not cast three men bound into the midst of
the fire?" They answered and said to the
king, "True, O king.“
44. Dan 3:24-25
25 "Look!" he answered, "I see four men
loose, walking in the midst of the fire;
and they are not hurt, and the form of
the fourth is like the Son of God."
45. 3 FRIENDS –buys gold refined in fire
• 3 FRIENDS – buys gold to Jesus to avoid
being lukewarm in Babylon
47. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold
refined by fire, so that you may be rich,
and white garments so that you may
clothe yourself and the shame of your
nakedness may not be seen, and salve to
anoint your eyes, so that you may see.
Revelation 3:18
49. 12 And because lawlessness will be
increased, the love of many will grow cold.
Matthew 24:12
50. REFINED BY FIRE
• Gold are first taken from soil and needed to
be refined in the fire to remove the dross
• Low grade gold usually melt
• High grade are ones who passed the test of
fire 7x and are kept in the Central Bank
treasury.
54. 27 And the satraps, the prefects, the
governors, and the king's counselors
gathered together and saw that the fire had
not had any power over the bodies of those
men. The hair of their heads was not
singed, their cloaks were not harmed, and
no smell of fire had come upon them.
Daniel 3:27
56. 29 Therefore I make a decree: Any
people, nation, or language that speaks
anything against the God of Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego shall be torn
limb from limb, and their houses laid in
ruins, for there is no other god who is able
to rescue in this way."
Daniel 3:29-30
57. 30 Then the king promoted Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego in the province
of Babylon.
Daniel 3:29-30
