The Staff Supervision & Appraisal Training Course is to explain the process of supervision and appraisal in relation to the requirements of good HR practice and the relationships to the Care Standards Act 2000. It will provide managers, supervisors and staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out and participate within effective supervisions and appraisals in their organisational situations. It will teach you how to motivate staff by giving appraisal and making sure that your staff are working to their best by teaching you or your team supervision techniques.

Course Description:
The objective of this course is to explain the process of supervision and appraisal in
relation to the requirements of good HR practice and the relationships to the Care
Standards Act 2000. It will provide managers, supervisors and staff with the necessary
skills and knowledge to carry out and participate within effective supervisions and
appraisals in their organisational situations.
Course Outline:
• A clear understanding of the Care Standards Act 2000 and other legislation
• Understand the need for a range of management and supervisory styles
• Have the ability to develop a ‘best practice’ model for staff supervision in their own
care setting
• Establish a range of methods to find the necessary information needed to carry out
the staffappraisal process in a fair but rigerous manner
• In a workshop situation develop and tryout a model appraisal
•Establish how information relating to the process of staff supervision and regular
assessments and appraisals can best be recorded and used to improve performance
