The STA Travel video is an advertisement for a travel company which uses a sequence of
short clips of the same man in different locations cut together quickly as a montage
sequence.
The video is successful because of the fast paced editing utilised throughout to create a
montage. The video is not continuous because of the changing locations and clothing that
the man wears and he is also getting slowly closer to the camera in each image. However,
the use of the montage to edit these clips together creates a flowing piece of footage
because of the continuous fast pace of the edit.
Each clip used in the video has been cut to motion which has also added to the pace and
flow of the edit as the man is continually moving which prevents the footage from becoming
jarring to watch. Additionally, the man appears to be walking in the same place even though
his clothes and surroundings change, making the film visually interesting.
